General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location:
Juha, 39, Finland

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc)
I play games: computer, mobile, card, pen&paper RPG. I also work in games industry. Reading and occasional gym time never hurts to balance out all the gaming. I also like to take over the dancefloor in trance parties.

Battletag:

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
This is still a bit in the air after all the changes. For raiding I'd probably pick the following ones:
Enlightenment - More mana never hurts for longer fights.
Angelic Feather - Both movement and survivability are issues for holy. DP helps with staying alive, so this is dedicated for movement.
Cosmic Ripple - Passive raid healing, GA would be more for dungeons.
Censure - This tier would be selected on case-by-case basis.
Surge of Light - Binding Heal competes with this, but SoL gives a bit more mobility. Will have to re-evaluate this after some time.
Halo - Would go Benediction if there was some constant ticking damage aura.
Light of the Naaru - This tier is tied to encounter damage patterns. LotN is the easy passive solution. Apot naturally works if there are aoe abilities that trigger every 2 minutes. Salvation is still a bit mystery to me. If there are huge damage spikes and not enough raid CDs available then picking that would make sense. With the Alabaster Lady trick being hotfixed Salvation isn't the superpower logs seem to show atm.

How do you prioritize your stats and why?
item level seems to be the thing to go after in BfA. Secondary stats are pretty even for holy, top end being most likely crit&mastery.

What state is your Artifact in?
Discarded. RIP.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
Nowadays mostly following Warcraft Priests Discord (ex H2P).

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:
Been raiding since vanilla, cleared up to BWL & AQ20 there. In TBC I cleared up to Brutallus before nerfs came in. In WotLK I missed only heroic LK and Ruby Sanctum. In Cata we missed few first tier heroic bosses, details in armory. In MoP I had a longer break and missed HoF & ToES, came back for ToT & SoO mythic. In WoD cleared HM mythic and fell a bit short in BRF mythic. In Legion cleared mythic EN. 2/3 mythic ToV and 3/10 in NH before our guild collapsed.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
Legion of Hell in vanilla. Left them in early TBC because they were not pushing progress as much as I would have liked. Joined Conviction and was there till the bitter end. There was a visit to Grind in Legion, but it had half ex-Conviction members so I'm not really counting that as separate guild :)

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
I have no other scheduled activities for those times. I used to hover around 80-90% attendance previously.

We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?
Yes. Can live with 4th raid for a while. Conviction used to raid 4x4h at some point, would not want to go back to that for good now though.

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yeah. As most people who used to raid with me know I don't speak that much since I'm playing in our living room and am trying to keep up domestic peace. I do have mic and can use if needed.

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
Preparation: I read up tactics beforehand. I bring my own consumables (needed or not). I try to keep up basic knowledge of other classes so I know what I can expect from them mechanics wise.
Willingness to improve: I used to run logging for Conviction and did spend some time going through them.

How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?
I do really prefer holy over other specs. That said, I have played both disc & shadow in mythic progress in the past.

How do you feel about progression raiding?
It is the only reason I have played the game (and why I came back again).

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
CoY was our friendly rival, so I have naturally known about it for a long time. I think there are quite a few ex-Convicts in CoY now that used to raid with me: Siccy, Gnarl, Elec, Zastin, Haalaa.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
Conviction is no more. CoY is the only Arathor horde guild that offers the quality of progress I'm looking for.

Do you play outside of raid?
Yes. I like grinding the WQs and farming mats (yes, I'm weird). I don't like M+ enough to push ranks there, but doing it for the loot is naturally good for the raid progress. I don't do pvp, too many traumas from druids running around the damn pillar.

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
I came back from a long break at the start of the summer. There has been no point for me to learn anything about Antorus, so I can't really provide any recent data about my skills. Hoping that past history would be enough to give a shot in BfA where everyone will be on the same starting line again.

Tell us a joke:
I used to have a job at a calendar factory but I got sacked because I took a couple of days off.

Hey Yurak, nice to see you are returning for BfA.

Thanks for your application. I'll copy your app over to our members section for discussion and we'll get back to you shortly.
As our roster is already rather healthy for BfA, it may take us a bit longer to look at your app depending on the content/feedback, so please bear with us.
