:: Personal Information ::

Name:
Giannhs
Age/Gender:
20/male
Where are you from?
Greece
Something about yourself?
I am currently studying at the electrical engineer faculty of Aristotle university in Thessaloniki . Also I do finswimming
Your PC/connection (use speedtest.net):
I’m currently on pavilion dv7 laptop (and I intent to upgrade to desktop in the near future). http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3806537992

:: Your Character/Alts ::

Link your armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/a ... mes/simple
Your choice of talents and glyphs:
T1 talents:
This tier I think is more about personal preferences . First of all I don’t find displacer beast able to fit any tanking situation unless its a special event that would a grace a blinking like spell, like Galakras went you jump off the tower you can avoid the falling damage by blinking. Regarding feline swiftness and wild charge , I usually prefer wild charge (because who doesn’t like charges? Well maybe dks:P) as it is quite good charging at adds and covering distances that otherwise you would do slower(also can be used for the same purpose with displacer beast on galakras by charging on adds). In situations that there isn’t room for the charge to be used properly I would go feline swiftness, but overall I prefer charge in situations that those two worth about the same.
T2 talents:
On this tier Cenarion Ward is very interesting and quite worthy , but the problem is that it’s a HoT and usually gets overlooked by the healers and its real power its diminished. Renewal its not that good but still is a Off GCD spell that could be proven good if your healers are not very dependable on heavy damage scenarios(but I don’t think this gonna be a problem in a good guild). Ysera’s Gift it’s a nice passive that can also provide some raid heal. So I personally go for Yseras as Cenarion Ward usually is not used at its fullest potential.
T3 talents :
Nothing special here . I think Typhoon is the talent to go on this tier even though its nerfed its still pretty good. Mass entanglement could be useful in some situations where a AoE root is needed and I really can think of a scenario where Faerie Swarm will be actually worth taking over the 2 two since most classes have slows that are not even talents.
T4 talents:
Quite interesting talents on this tier. Force of Nature has not that good mechanics for a raid scenario since bossed are immune to their taunting and wouldn’t pick it unless its for something special like proving grounds or challenge modes where you want some damage off you. Incarnation has some burst potential but its not as good as it used to be since all your abilities generate rage now but still useful for increased dps in short periods of time and when excess rage regeneration is needed. Soul of the Forest is probably the best and provides better results than incarnation in most situations with an extended fighting period.
T5 talents:
The utility on this tier is not that great about raids. Ursol’s Vortex probably provides the best result in situations you want to keep the adds stacked up and away from raid members in situation where the adds fixate on random people. Mighty Bash could find some use on stunning probably an add but aside from that not much. Incapacitating Roar I cant think of any use in a raid , probably something very specific? But nothing comes to my mind right now.
T6 talents:
Heart of the Wild still good for doing off roles where is needed but since now there is no tranquility for us which was a useful cooldown on fights like juggernaut , its power is not as great as it used to be. Nature’s Vigil its pretty bad now since there is no vengeance no big damage no big heal and yeah that’s about it . Dream of Cenarius is the default choice here because it provides more damage for mangle and the instant casts on healing touch and rebirth are pretty nice to have and the heal is way more than nature’s. Only replaceable by HoW in situations where it provides more help to the group.
Glyphs:
Glyph of Stampeding Roar. No reason not to have it. Great utility for the raid.
Glyph of Maul: Some more damage when hitting more that one target, nothing better to pick anyways.
Glyph of Fae Silence: Very good for interrupting and picking casters than having to run to them. Still there isn’t always a use for it.
Glyph of Survival Instincts :A tricky one, useful for situations where you need mitigation for very shorts period of time, like Nazgrim’s execute, but otherwise the 3s duration can’t do much for the healers.
Glyph of Rebirth: Can be situational where you can’t pick something better.

Link to your logs/vidoes (WoL etc):
I’m sorry I don’t have any , it’s been a while since the time I did a raid.
Can you play your Offspec?
Yes I’m pretty confident I can play all my offspecs, although I have tested feral and resto in real raiding environment and not really balance.
Link your alts armory: The only ones that are noticeable http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/a ... tis/simple

:: Additional Information ::

Your previous guilds (and why you left):
Since at MoP I transferred to this server I ‘m going to talk about the guilds on this server.
I started with Crusaders of Honor but when ToT came out the facts that my schedule was really stressful and that I was the 3rd tank and 2nd guardian which lead to me be benched a lot , I decided to take a break from WoW just to come back at SoO.
Then I joined ELLHNARES with some friends since I wasn’t looking for a raiding guild around then but we managed some hc bosses
Your previous raid experience:
My raid experience comes mainly from my druid and also from my shaman ( created @ wotlk).Mainly I have been tank with my druid and elemental with my shaman but I have raided a lot as resto too.

Vanilla
ZG,AQ20,MC,Onyxia,BWL,AQ(never killed cthun)

TBC
Everything up to Black Temple (Till council)

Wotlk
Naxxramas,Malygos,Os3D,ulduar 10 man till general with 2 hardmodes I think, toc10/25 ,icc 11/12 and 4/12 hc on 10man without the buff

Cataclysm
Had quitted the game for personal reasons around then and only did some hc bosses on dragon soul before MoP was released.

MoP
MSV 1HC 25man,HoF 1/6 10m, Toes 4/4 25m, 2/12 ToT 25m, SoO 10/14 hc 10man.

How our guild can benefit from you?
Well you will earn a player that has a brain and is always prepared for the raids and likes to play his chars to their max potential. Also I’m quite friendly and like to help my guildies if I can be of any assistance. Sometimes I can be funny too:D!
Would you be willing to modify or change your spec to assist the guild?
Yes of course, I have done so in the past.

:: Bit more about you::

Can you talk and listen on TS?
Yes I can do both
Are you able to attend all days we are raiding (Wed/Thu/Mon)?
Yes!
What is your attitude towards progress/what motivate you in WoW?
The PvE aspect of the game is what makes it so interesting (at least for me). The idea of cooperating with other players to kill a boss or to achieve something while it’s hard and many other players aren’t able to do it its what makes my blood boil and gets me going :D Yeah, boss kills especially those that require a lot of effort are my drug:P
Do you play outside raids or log only for them?
Yes, I play outside raids . But I wouldn’t pick wow (non raiding-time) over something else in the thing called “real life”, unless I have made plans with friends or guildies to do something in game (e.g challenge mods or whatever xD). Meaning that I will play outside raids unless I have something more interesting to do.
Why you want to join us?
I would like to join a serious guild and do some progress on raids. Also to meet new cool people maybe? :D Also I know Siftango so I thought it would be worth to try and play in the same guild as he does.

:: Additional Comments / Questions ::
I saw that you also need some dps , so I thought I might as well add that I know how to play with elemental pretty good if he’s is more needed. I prefer the druid more though. In addition I’ve been told that my voice is pretty good for radio so you may look forward hearing it;)

Hi Giannhs,

Thanks for your application to us, we shall discuss that internally asap and give you an answer afterwards. Although our tank spot is taken currently with a very strong backup, we will see how we can fit you into the guild if app is positive.

Also we will come with some questions during the internal/chat process. My first one would be (which not me being picky or rude, I just seen it a lot and would like to know the answer):

- You stated you did Vanilla bosses like ZG, AQ, BWL but your age is 20 currently, wasn't you too young to play this game back there when they were current bosses?

*I'm just curious, as I way past 20ish and did play there*

Cheers,
Y.

Hello Yse,
Thank you for your quick response, and sorry for my slow one I was doing some raid but at least got the mount!.I will agree with you I was too young to play the game but my father wasn't at all and with him being a gamer(or he used to , his hands cant handle it anymore) I got to play WoW myself. Though I have to admit some kills were me watching my father play:P Also the guild I was in was full greek so I had no problem in communicating.Well I can't say I was a great player around then but the differences in players' skill weren't so easy to see back then. Whatever the question just throw it to me and I am willing to answer:)

I would like to ask you how would you feel as a DPS for example Elemental Shaman? Would you play as good as a tank?

Cheers,
Y.

I have no problem at all to play as DPS. Regarding Elemental Shaman, I think I am able to perform as good as tank.Well I might need a couple more raiding hours(as ele) to refine(again:P) my skills since there were some changes with 6.0 , and I'm back in the game no more than 2 weeks, but after that it should be fine and on the same level as tank.

Cheers,
Names.

Re-applying as requested as shaman(quick and short additions):

T1 talents-The survival talent tier:
Stone Bulwark Totem is below the other 2 talents. Nature’s Guardian is the probably the best when the fight doesn’t require any special defensive cd , but personally I always find a use for Astral Shift so I prefer to have an extra defensive skill.
T2 talents-cc/utility:
Frozen power is the best for single target cc but many times creatures are immune to that particular root. Earthgrab totem is good for aoe root ( i.e. Immerseus especially with totemic projection). Windwalk totem is a good raid utility cd that can find use in fights like spoils or malkorok… The choice here depends purely on the fight.
T3 talents-Totem improvement:
Call of the elements is not very useful and doesn’t really any targeted utility. Totemic persistence can find some use but only situationally like having the Stone Bulwark totem. Totem projection is pretty useful and can be used in various ways like moving your fire totem without wasting GCD , reallocating capacitor and earthgrab totem , so I usually go with this talent.
T4 talents-Dps improvement:
The choice here for single target is between Elemental mastery and Ancestral Swiftness with Elemental mastery being better wherever burst is required. Echo of elements is useful for aoe fights where you could stack many earthquakes( The animation also is pretty funny too bad others can’t see it :( )
T5 talents-Healing utility:
Rushing streams is not very good for elemental. The only really option here is Ancestral Guidance to be honest as it can work like a healing cd in times of heavy damage. Conductivity is only useful in situations where the raid is stacked and there is constant damage ( norushen for example) , so you can offer more heal but a cost of dps loss.
T6 talents-Dps improvement:
The talents here are pretty much the same with Primal elementalist coming on top at short fights and on aoe ones . Otherwise I think right now Elemental blast is slightly ahead on single target dps. So I usually go with elemental blast unless I can use primal elementalist.

Glyphs:
Glyph of Spiritwalker’s Grace: I think is kind of mandatory and very useful unless there is no need for spiritwalker’s grace(nearly impossible).
Glyph of Lightning Shield: Pretty good working as a minor extra defensive cd.
Glyph of Shamanistic Rage: Can be situational in fights like immerseus, thok.sha of pride a self dispel is very good.
Glyph of Chain lighting : Good when there are many targets to cleave.
Glyph of Fire Elemental Totem: Good whenever the elemental cant dps for 1 minute straight>
Glyph of capacitor totem: Good in situations like garrosh ( especially at the temple of jade serpent)
