General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location:

Hello, my name is Patrick, I am 35 years old male and I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark on Halloween last year.

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc)
Outside of WOW,I enjoy hacking android hardware to make it do what I want and annoying people at work by making projects move forwards or sideways in unexpected ways.

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:

Currently playing Beast Mastery as that was my chosen spec for levelling and I have stuck with that while I consider my options. Currently my weapon has 21 points spent in it, with artifact power level 4.

For my second spec, I have sorted out my interface and had a quick look at Marksmanship, which after one day of raiding appears to be very strong for raiding. I haven't spent many artifact points on my MM weapon yet, but it shouldn't take too long to get a reasonable number of points in it.

I am more open to playing Marksmanship over Survival as my main or alternate spec as I simply just prefer being a ranged player.
Ultimately I will want to play the most suitable spec per fight.

How do you prioritize your stats and why?

I have been prioritising mastery and haste where I can, most of my current gear I have really chosen for the ilevel at this point replacing gear if I get something similar with those stats if possible.

What do you think about Artifact and how important it is for your spec (traits etc)?

For BM I think its interesting, the clone pet Hati isn't quite as strong as my main pet and has annoying name plates. The AOE it produces is powerful and I am looking forward to seeing what the third premium power brings to table.
It will be a while until I reach the 2nd and 3rd points in marksmanship.

Overall fairly fun, but it has come at the expense of some key hunter abilities.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?

I read the forums on mmo-champion.com (mostly for the tears), icy-veins, sometimes the WOW forums but most of my class knowledge is from playing with other hunters.

My UI has been evolving for years now and I am fairly proud of it (although it does get its share of mockery), moving elements by pixels, it shows me what I need to but still allows me to see what is going on. This is how it looked during the last expansion:

Currently, general elements are still the same now but with less buttons!

I will need to try and capture an image in a raid this expansion, will look to join a pug later if I feel I can cope with that!

Sadly no raid logs this expansion.

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:

I have literally raided everything at its time and seen every fight with the exception of Blackhand Mythic as Conviction only got up to Blast Furnace as part of our progress.
In the following tier we did everything on Heroic and got as far as Goregfiend on mythic but I took my break at that point.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:

I have played a hunter since vanilla when Steel Talon Knights merge with Vox to become Conviction. After a brief break at the start of the Burning Crusade (got a girlfriend who wasn’t ready to handle my hunting prowess), I returned and joined Maligned where we powered through and I led the guild to a server first Lich King kill. When things started to break down there I had a brief spell in a hard core guild helping them get the realm first Sinestra kill before I took a break as I thought my new job in London would prevent me from raiding. It was still possible and I returned to Maligned where we merged with both Umbrage and Outland Shadows in a bid to keep raiding. It worked for a while, but we never really got going with mythic raiding and interest waned.

When the guild stopped raiding there, a few of us were lucky enough to get in Conviction and we ended MOP on a nice high note also starting Warlords strongly but the general motivation was waning and while we held on as long as we could 75% of our raids have been getting cancelled and that’s where we are today with Conviction finally throwing in the towel.

I joined ANE when my initial application here was rejected for reasons that were never clear. ANE was good fun, but again we struggled with numbers and it went down just as quickly.

I then joined here as a social with a view to raiding again, but at the time I was preparing to move to Denmark and have since hopefully moved to a final location after that!

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?

I work from home so I can never be late back from work and your times do indeed seem very reasonable and more relaxed than how I used to raid, so I don't see any problems at all!

We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?

I am aware of Sundays and have no problems with the extra day.

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?

We bring much less than we used to that’s for sure! Hunters have always been an ideal class for tasks on the move or having to perform some action at range. It feels like concussive shot and binding shot are about it regarding utility, at least as BM. But personally like to think I bring a focused raider who is willing to put the time in to learn a fight.

How do you feel about progression raiding?

Is there any other kind at this point of an expansion? I have spent weeks/months wiping on the same boss, it all just adds to the accomplishment. Having said that, I would rather bosses did not take months to beat.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?

I have been in Curse of Years for a year myself and have known people here from Conviction, Maligned and a Neccesary Evil.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?

Well I am already here for one, I don't have to pretend to be nice. The raiding times are great and there doesn't seem to be any animosity in the guild, at least I haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Do you play outside of raid?

At this point of expansion definately, lots to do - towards the end when there is nothing? Less so, I do have alts but it isn't their time yet.

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?

This is the worst possible time to apply to a guild. Everyone wants to see the new things I am here chomping at the bit to play with people that don't wipe on normals on group finder.
Last time I applied it was a new tier, so also bad. I am a master of timing. I hope you will see past the fact I posted the wrong application format, even the format has changed from last year.
Thanks again and I hope you can see potential in me and my high attendance over the last twelvish years!

Tell us a joke:

What do Ashkandi, Greatsword of the Brotherhood , Apolyon, the Soul-Render, and Nibelung all have in common?
They are all hunter weapons.

This also definitely wasn't the same joke as July 2015.
