Shadow Priest application

If you wish to apply to us, this is the place for you!

General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location:

My name is Pontus, I'm for... ouch, do I need to start with age?! OK then. forty (!) years old. Anyway, I'm a guy from Sweden who's missing raiding a lot!

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc)
Well, I have my own company working with programming. Mostly C#, and Web technologies. On my spare time I love to ride my motorcycle or play golf :)

Character Information:

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
I do have a Shadow-spec right now, but I havent really thought about my talent choices at this point. Ofc this is something I do when I raid, but I haven't really been raiding since Highmaul and even then it was very casual.
I don't like current version of Shadow Priest, but the changes for Legion seems really good and makes the class fun again (for me).

How do you prioritize your stats and why?
My stats is random! I healed as disc at the start of WoD, and after that I have just been solo playing grabbing whatever gear I have found basically :) Again, when I raid for real I do research everything I can about a class, Icy-veins is a good resource to get started.

What do you think about Artifact and how important it is for your spec (traits etc)?
I do think it is sad that we get a weapon from start though, I don't like the idea of every shadow priest, fury warrior, holy paladin, etc to have the same weapon... But I don't think it's a biggie in the end. It will be very very important though in terms of your role performance.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
Icy-veins to start with, but I google alot and watch videos and read theroycrafting from all sources to form my own opinion.

Paste a your UI via IN COMBAT
(Ensure that all Key Bindings are visible)

A bit messy in that pic, was joining a raid to get the mount from HFC and was sorting the UI out during the raid :)
Keybindings for short/medium CD's are: 1-5, shift + 1-5, Q, E, R, T, G. Semi-long/long or pet/stance -control usually on alt + 1-4, §, F1-F4. I also use 4-6 buttons on the mouse for PTT, trinkets, panic stuff, etc.

I really need to sort this out though before Legion hits!

Link to your raid logs using using LINK.:
Don't have any.

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:
I raided hardcore/semi-hardcore from vanilla to late Wotlk, then I got much else to do IRL and went casual. Then I stopped playing early cata and didn't join until WoD hit. By then I was raiding with a friends/family guild which was fun, but I want more for Legion :)

Priest have always been my main, but I have switched roles over the years. Vanilla was holy, TBC/Wotlk Shadow, WoD Disc.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
My guild in heart is Umbrage (Arathor), but they have gone casual to say the least :) I also joined TSA (Zenedar) in Wotlk for a while, but I missed Arathor and went back to Umbrage before cata. I then formed a friends and family guild for WoD just for casual raiding.

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes! Perfect times for me :)

We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?
Yes! Early new content is always fun and I cant get enough of it, so no problem :)

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes! I've had my own TS server for 10+ years, so I'm familiar with the platform.

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
I think I'm a decent raider and I learn from mistakes and adapt to new stuff. I read up a lot on my class and spend many hours improving on dummies, watching videos, read theory crafting, discussing with other players, etc. I'm always prepared with all food, pots, elixirs, flasks, etc

How do you feel about progression raiding?
Love it! Well, up to a point I guess. As long as it's progression it fun :) Have been stuck on a boss for way to long time sometimes because 1 or 2 players did the same mistakes over and over... that's not fun of course. But I love to wipe on progress raids! It's a big part of progression and I miss it :D

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
I have been looking online for my old raiding friends for a while, but seems everyone is on a break right now. I wanted to see if they still raided and if so, in what guild. But when I didn't find anyone, I remembered wowprogress and then I found you! To be honest, I haven't heard about you before - but as I said, I haven't played much for a long time.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
Your raiding goals and a schedule that seems perfect for me.

Do you play outside of raid?
Yes of course! I have always had a lot of alts, I like to level, test and have fun on other classes.

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
Not really. I'm just hyped about Legion and to raid again!

Hi there.

Apologies for the delay. Unfortunately we have decided to decline your application as we're not in a position to take on a trial of your experience/gear level currently

I wish you the best in your future guild search!

Regards
Eremor
