About You..

Your name, age, gender, hobbies?:
My name is Oria, I'm a 25 years old (this Friday is my birthday actually) male currently living in Israel. I study applied mathematics and computer science, I also have a job, I'm a tutor (sort of teaching assistant) in a local university, teaching various different subjects in computer science mainly.

I have 2 main hobbies, the first one is gaming. I've been a pretty hardcore gamer for a very long time, I have a collection of video games (hello ladies...) and I always try to complete everything 100%, my latest addition to the collection is bloodborne nightmare addition.

The other hobby is bowling. I'm pretty good, and I go out bowling just about every other weekend. My studies keep me busy on weekdays.

Where are you from?:
Israel

What's your PC spec, is it ready for 20 Mythic Raiding?:
i7 1.73ghz processor, geforce gtx460m, 8GB ram, playing from a gaming laptop. Asus g53jw. It can handle 20 man mythic raiding and has done so before.

• What spec you'r playing and what you can tell us about it (inc. talents, glyphs, most important usage of your abilities)?:
It should be noted that I also have an alt level 100 shaman which I am fine playing him for the guild also, but I will just assume you are more interested in the warrior since that is the character I have more gear and experience on.

It should also be noted that I just returned from a break (I will explain more in a later section) and when I stopped playing (like same week highmaul mythic opened) dps warriors were in a very weird spot, some fights prefered arms (such as brackenspore, tectus, twin ogron), others prefered fury (kargath) and some gladiator shined (imperator my boy!). As such, my information may not be 100% up to date, but I will try my best to impress you and give an image that represents me truthfully.

The spec I play changes on a fight by fight basis. Some fights prefer arms, some fights prefer fury. From what I can see from logs, gladiator kinda takes the back seat in BRF (dps warriors in generally don't seem very strong on the later bosses). I will list what I do on each spec.

Arms

Mostly I take arms for fights where there is more than one target. I keep rend on multiple targets, and if they are close I can even sweeping strikes them for big boy dps. If the fights has more than 1 mob consistently, I'll go with arms.

Talents: Double time, Enraged regen, taste for blood, Droar, vigi, bloodbath /bladestorm, ravager
Reasoning behind choices: I like having a lot of mobility in a fight. Had to move out because of fire in rapid succession? np, got double time. That's just personal preference. enraged regen is good for those OH SHIT moments. second wind and impending victory won't help with that. taste for blood because arms tend to be rage starved and having tfb can lead to a very spammy sort of playstyle which i like, plus it's the clear winner when faced against multiple targets. Droar because nothing better (again assuming at least 2 targets), vigi so tanks will love me, bloodbath / bladestorm depends on the fight. if the fight has heavy aoe phases than clearly bladestorm. but if its constant 2 targets like ogron for example, ill take bloodbath, ravager because the other 2 are garbage.

Glyphs: Unending rage is a must have, the entire arms playstyle depends on me having a lot of rage because of taste for blood. it's a must for rage managing, death from above, im a mobility freak, and the third depends on the situation. If I need to interrupt then I take rude interruption but if I don't then I take sweeping strikes. the 1 extra rage isn't anything special but it's better than nothing.

The glyphs and talents I use are on a "by demand" basis. Nothing is set in stone.
Rotation for arms (assuming 2 targets, else I'd be fury):
1) sweeping strikes up at all times for max swag
2) rend on both targets for rage generation through taste for blood and dps
3) choose one of the bosses. He will be my bitch and I will attack him single target from now on
4) colossus smash on cd
5) mortal strike on cd. if enemy is below 20%, execute spam. use when have more than 40 rage for big boy dps. pool rage when colossus smash is about to come off cd to fit as many executes in there as possible
6) if enemy is above 20%, whirlwind instead of execute. try to pool rage before CS for more whirlwinds in CS window

If I am fighting more than 2 targets, I rend 3-5 targets with highest hp, and whirlwind everything to death. droar on cd, bladestorm better than bloodbath in this scenario. ignore mortal strike or colossus smash (but i still keep sweeping up obviously).

That's arms.

Fury

Fury is the spec I choose when the fight has single target, and maybe short bursts of aoe. kargath is a good example. mostly single target, but if you go on stands then its aoefest.

Talents: double time, enraged regen, sudden death, droar, vigi, bloodbath / bladestorm, ravager
Reasons: double time enraged regen droar vigi same as arms. sudden death i prefer over furious strikes even though i enjoy the spammy playstyle. I just find it less taxing on my rage. They are both acceptable choices, bloodbath if single target, bladestorm if kargath aoe adds, ravager vs anger management is a pickle. It's very situational. I tend to prefer ravager because it's just a thing I can use once per minute and not worry about it. but I heard anger management can be very good if it lines up cds correctly.

Glyphs: Unending rage, heroic leap, rude interruption if pummel duty, raging wind otherwise
reasons: nothing better than ranging wind. Kind of underwhelming. I feel for raiding heroic leap is a must for getting out of bad things fast, and unending rage is mandatory for all warriors. third one is kind of personal preference.

Rotation:

1) berserker rage for big boy dmg if not already in big boy mode
2) execute if sudden death proc
3) wildstrike / execute if above 90 rage and nothing procd
4) raging blow if above 20%
5) bloodthirst if rage starved or not enraged
6) execute (no sudden death proc)

I'll be honest it's been a while since I played so some thing might be not on point completely and I defo need to practice and freshen up, I hope it gave you the idea of what kind of person I am, what kind of wow player I am, and that I take it seriously. (why so srs??)

• What stats are you prioritize?:
strength > 11% haste > 25% crit > 14% haste > everything else. More crit is always good. delicious delicious crits. thats for fury

strength > crit > multi > mastery > haste is garbage for arms.

• Where do you acquire information and knowledge about your class?:
mmo-champions warrior forums have pretty vibrant community of helpful people. Icy veins comes to mind, plenty of youtube guides...I'll be honest I'm not one to delve deep into theorycrafting and min maxing, I often read / see what others are doing, try to copy it and go my own way and see what works for me.

There's no shortage of data on the subject. Icy veins and mmo-champ keep me covered. I need some practice and self testing.

• Paste your UI via (REQUIRED):
6.1 broke all my ui so currently using wow standard ui, however before the amazing content filled game changing patch we got, this was my ui

Image

• Link to your raid logs using LINK:
As I said above I don't have any recent logs sadly since I kind of stopped playing.
I have a few older (way older) logs of me playing with another guild called DarkStorm, a guild on Zenedar. In the content drought before WoD we decided to get all the 10 man speed kill world records, and we succeeded really well. Here are a few logs from that:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/character/275989/5/#boss=1601

Managed to find a few logs from Highmaul with Myst at the very beginning of WoD:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/character/894167/6/#boss=0

click on the pars you like to see for more information (like damage taken etc). I'm sorry it's not very updated but that's what I got.

• Share your guild history as well as reason for leaving them and your current guild ?:
I've been playing WoW for the past 10 years and I really enjoyed it and continue to enjoy it now, but as most players who play that long, i've been in more than a few guilds. I'll list the substantial ones. I honestly can't remember each and every one.

We ran out of good names - vanilla guild. was amazing and fun (nostalgia goggles are real). disbanded mid tbc iirc

The last resort - (not the famous one from Kazzak), disbanded shortly after killing Illidan.

Enraged Revolution - left due to stressful uni schedule that was incompatible with ER's raiding schedule

DarkStorm - I was kicked actually. They were on a raid break during the soo content drought and that's when shit started to happen in israel, i was enlisted, and i didnt come back in time, i came back after the break was over, and they thought i ditched them so they kicked me. unfortunate miscommunication. I was a trialist there. Not a member, but was there for a while.

Myst - my most recent guild. left them due to uni schedule being incompatible.

I know this seems like a lot of guild hopping, and it is. I'll be honest ever since I left enraged revolution things have been going down hill for me in WoW and I've been looking to settle down for a while now.

• Describe your past/current raid experience:
Vanilla
cleared all content up to and including twin emps. killed twin emps literally 2 hours before tbc launch. was amazing. The feels were real.

TBC
cleared all content up to sunwell (not including sunwell).

wotlk
mainly pugged. I didn't join a proper raiding guild due to my military service. still managed to down like 9/12 icc heroic. I can't really remember. nothing serious.

cata
cleared all content with several high world ranking kills with Enraged Revolution.

MoP
only cleared soo when it was current. rest I came back and cleared with soo gear. It should be mentioned I did something special in mop too, in DarkStorm we went on speed kills during the content drought. we tried to break world records for 10 man speed kills and for the most part we were very successful. I sent links above. Shame warriors were kinda weak during bloodlust phase compared to other classes and the fights only lasted for 90 seconds :P

WoD
Cleared highmaul heroic. Killed kargath and ogron on mythic. several brackenspore mythic attempts. As I said I was forced to leave pretty early on which is a shame.

• Please list your alts via LINK:
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/draenor/Drakmarg/simple is my shaman, i literally leveled it up to 100 so i can have dungeon saves (its on different account but still belongs to me only) and then left it.

I have many other chars above level 90, but no 100 chars apart from that.
I actually have something important to say about my alts, I'll write it down in "anything to add" part where it is more appropriate.

More Information..

• Raid times: Can you agree with our raid times 21:00 to 00:00 Server time (UTC+1 also Sunday for extra raids)?:
wednesday, thursday, sunday, monday
• Teamspeak: Can you use, SPEAK and LISTEN to Teamspeak?:
Yes
• You and us: Would you be willing to modify or change your spec to assist the guild?:
Yes
• What our guild can benefit from your class and yourself as a player?:
What can you benefit from recruiting a warrior
Warriors are the kings of burst aoe (bladestorm. nothing comes close).
Warriors can tank and dps
rallying cry (dps only)
Sadly melee seems kind of under represented in BRF (melee? in a disadvantage to range? shocking right?), and since they took out banners (gosh that was fun), but single target they seem to do well and on par with other classes.

Why you should recruit me
I'm passionate about the game and I enjoy raiding (even progress nights of wiping!)
I'm mildly intelligent and I catch on pretty quickly (be it mechanics, rotation, whatever)
I'm very versatile and I'm good with many different specs and classes
I'm a team player that puts the needs of the guild as a whole above my own
I don't really care about topping meters or competing with raid members and friends. I do my best so the boss dies, and I don't cockblock my raid members for internet glory or parses.
I'd like to think I'm fun to be around. "I'm a people person!"

• What is your attitude towards progress/what motivate you in WoW?:
http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=94802881541660727929

This is a recording of the last minute of Enraged Revolutions first kill of Ragnaros heroic 25 men. It was world 50ish kill. Listen to it. This is what motivates me.

• Why would you like to play with us? What we got that others don't?:
Firstly, if you look at my past guilds you can see that most guilds I left due to university. But your schedule fits perfectly with my university's schedule. I can assure you 100% attendance In these days and hours and that won't change (Maybe I'll be late 15 minutes on thursdays next semester (that's 4 months from now) and if it's a big deal i'll just skip class 15 minutes early. It fits me perfectly. Honestly my uni schedule is pretty tight, and it's an anomaly to find a guild that I can raid with. This is an opportunity I can't afford to miss since there aren't many guilds like CoY in that respect.

The other thing is, the atmosphere seems really great. the "curse of years players quotes" hearing the things players from CoY said, that counts for a lot in my book.

Other then that, the website gave me a good first impression, and I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and talking to you in person.

• Do you play outside raids or log only for them?:
Sometimes i raid log, depends whats going on in my life, if i have essays or anything like that. I try to be as active as I can. I also play other games (Bloodborne awaits! and Witcher 3! and batman arkham knight [game of the year 2015, calling it right now]) but I try to be as active as I can. Not a lot to do in WoW nowadays it seems apart from raiding. Not much of a pvp guy though I tried messing with it for a bit lately now that im guildless.
• Anything to add?:
Yes.

Being the veteran that I am, I understand full well that this app is not very appealing to you for 3 main reasons:
1) I am a warrior, and you are currently not in need of warriors
2) I have no BRF experience
3) I have no gear.

I am not disillusioned. I know exactly where I stand. and I want to tell you why I think that despite these 3 reasons, you should recruit me. Allow me to tackle them 1 by 1.

1) True you are currently not in need of a warrior, dps or tank. But I also have a shaman level 100 which I don't mind at all raiding on. I also have a level 97 druid that I can ding 100 in like 4 hours. I also have a mage level 93ish iirc. The class is not the issue here. And in my experience I always found that "recruit the player not the class" works best and I expect you found the same conclusion. Classes change. sometimes this class is on top, sometimes the other is. It's dynamic. and I think I am versatile and can play most class to a good level, very good if i put my mind into it and research (which I will).

2) True I don't have any BRF experience, but there are many guides on the web, including video guides and discussions on strategies. I agree that watching a kill of a boss and actually killing it are different, but I believe I am intelligent enough to put what I saw and read into practice very quickly, and I'm sure if I need any help, I will ask and people will answer. I still have faith in humanity. I think my past experience and guilds suggest that I am at least intelligent enough to handle simple boss mechanics and learn tactics.
But most importantly...You are not recruiting for BRF only. Yes I might not be of much use during BRF progress at the moment, but BRF won't last forever (it will only seem like it...). And when progress is done, and the new tier comes, and everythings new and there's a clean slate, would it matter if I did BRF on mythic when it came out or not?

3) I'm undergeared and taking me with you right now to BRF mythic would be a bad idea. But I'm sure you have alt runs? I'm sure that people still run heroic or normal BRF to complete the gear they need for BRF mythic. I could tag along for those, get to know everyone, and when you deem my gear adequate you can throw me an inv to mythic BRF. I doubt that will take longer than 2-3 weeks. Even on my shaman that has literally 0 gear. And again I ask, are you recruiting for BRF progress only? in the next tier, or even the one after that, would it matter that at the start of BRF I was undergeared?

I suppose my point is, if you are looking for someone immediately, to fill in spots for mythic progress and he needs to be available right now, I am sorry to have wasted your time, I am not your guy. But if you are recruiting a player, for this tier and future tiers, for the long haul, then I honestly believe I could be an asset to you, and it's worth overlooking my current shortcomings. When we are fighting Sargeras 2-3 expansions from now, it won't matter that while you were progressing on BRF i was undergeared.

• Tell us a joke:
I am particularly fond of math jokes:

a biologist, a physicist and a mathematician are taking a walk, when they notice 2 people enter a house. Shortly after, 3 people leave the house.

The biologist says: "2 entered and 3 left. They must have reproduced while inside."
The physicist says: "2 entered and 3 left. There must have been a person inside before they entered."
the mathematician stops to think for a moment and says "If another person enters the house....it will be empty!"

...I'm so sorry.

Hey Oria (Not gonna call you Eyechewer, its a weird name to greet with).

Nice app, looks like you really took the time to write it which is great. I was just wondering about your shaman (as this is a more pressing need). Do you have any experience raiding as elemental at all? Perhaps even during an Alt Run but at the very least during current content?

I'm sure the Higher-Ups will be back with more questions/messages so stay tuned!

Oria is fine, sexy is better :)

Thanks for the compliment.

I have raided with shaman before, before WoD. I literally just leveled this char to 100 and left it, did nothing else with it. But before WoD i did raid for a bit as ele, not sure how much that counts since I'm sure its completely different now then how it was before the prune.

But I'm confident that I could get the hang of it. WoW is not an overly difficult game to reach a decent level at regardless of class. Sure it might take a raid or 2 but I'm sure I'll catch on quick. So no, haven't raided as ele or anything other than warrior in WoD so far but willing to put in the time and effort to reach a good level of play with any class. Also, playing ele was a lot of fun.

Hey,

I'm just popping in to say I like this app! A lot of effort was made and I really like your attitude. I'm not sure we need a Warrior/Melee but I definitely agree with what you said about bring the "player" Anyway's, good luck with your app :)

Hey!

Thanks for applying to us. I apology for late answer but was a busy day for us. As app goes it's looking very nice and as you say "bring player above gear". I will copy it to internal forum for some evaluation.

This is my battletag, add me for a chat tomorrow if you can - rejv#2929.

Cheers,
Yse.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I realize I don't have much else going for me apart from my past experience, so I tried to write a kickass application, glad you liked it.

I'm back from uni at around 19:30 server time, but because it's my birthday tomorrow there's a chance that my friends will have a surprise party or something like that (I'll just have to act surprised...)

I'll try to reach you tonight. Thanks for considering me.

Hello Eyechewer. I also wanted to reach out and compliment you on your well-written application. As Yse said, we are considering your application carefully. It is my personal opinion that you would mesh well with the guild, and we would love an elemental shaman.

I hope you have a happy birthday tomorrow.
