Character Related Information

• What spec you'r playing and what you can tell us about it (inc. talents, glyphs, most important usage of your abilities)?:
Currently I play Survival and Marksman (used to be BM before until WOD). I played Marksman at the beginning of WOD and after they buffed and improved Survival as well I started playing Survival Hunter.
Regarding talents:
1. I use Posthaste which has proven more useful lately than the usual Crouching Tiger Hidden Chimaera especially in fights where you need the burst of speed or/and if you are assigned different specific roles.
2. Binding Shot because I usually find it more useful for the aoe stun than the sleep and the pet stun.
3. Iron Hawk for the 10% dmg reduction and as I usually run Lone Wolf Spirit Bond has no effect, but it's an option if I choose Focusing Shot.
4. Thrill Of The Hunt because it was the best option as Marksmana and it's also a very good one for Survival too. Steady Focus is ok too but for the moment I chose to use TOTH.
5. A Murder of Crows because it's the best talent currently for both Survial and MM. Maybe also for BM but as BM there are also options for Blink Strikes for pet and Dire Beast. Didn't test BM much this expansion.
6. I usually run with Barrage as it is very good aoe and also single target. Glave Toss is still a good single target option.
7. Lone Wolf for the finally being able to get rid of the pet which sometimes can be a pain in the ass and not always listening :). Worked great for Marksman and works well for Survival too even though for encounters where it's not constant moving Focusing Shot is a very strong alternative.
Regarding glyphs I use: Glyph of Deterence for increased damage reduction, Glyph of Disengage for increased Disengage distance which are usually mandatory for me and for the 3rd one I use Glyph of Pathfinding for the added speed bonus or Glyph of Animal Bond if I use a pet.
An example of my rotation would be:

As a Survival Hunter: prepot - Blood Fury (orc)+ AMOC - Black Arrow - Explosive Shot (multiple if Lock and Load procs)- Arcane Shot (multiple if TOTH procs) - then Black Arrow on cd to keep lock and load chance to proc always up - Explosive shot on cd - arcane shot to keep up the Serpent Sting debuff and dump focus

As Marksman: prepot - Rapid fire+Blood Fury+AMOC - Chimaera Shot - Aimeshot (multiple with TOTH) - than priotiry is Chimaera on cd, Kill Shot on cd ( when target under 30%), AMOC on CD, Rapid Fire usually on CD but can be aligned with other procs optimally.

• What stats are you prioritize?:
My main stat is Agility as Survival and Weapon DPS and Agility as Marksman. My secondary most important stat would be Multistrike. As Marksman I used to have more Crit but Multistrike is good for MM as well together with Multistrike. Highmaul gear unfortunately is full of haste...
• Where do you acquire information and knowledge about your class?:
I read anything I can find on how to improve myself in playing my class well. Of course I check Icy Veins, Wowhead but also other specific hunter forums or guides and try to extract what I think is useful for me.
• Paste your UI via (REQUIRED):
I don't have a screenshot with me (currently at work) but I use standard UI with a Quartz bar and some custom made icons from Tell Me When. I also use DBM and Skada DPS Meter.
• Link to your raid logs using LINK:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/guilds/20454/
• Share your guild history as well as reason for leaving them and your current guild ?:
I started a hunter long ago but I really got into the game at the beginning of MOP and my first guild was Army of Darkness. But I got there in the middle of some internal problems, so the activity was very low or nonexistent. I moved to Immortals where we tried some raiding but we lacked the people to do it properly and constantly. Then I joined Enigma where I started to enjoy real raiding ToT and SoO until the raid team broke down. After that many players left the game or took a break, combined with the long wait for the next expansion, have determined me to also take a summer break. When I came back most of my former guildies and friends have moved to Euphoria so I joined them and have been doing raids heroic/mythic with them since the beginning of WoD.
• Describe your past/current raid experience:
I have been raiding normal/heroics ToT and SoO in Enigma and after a summer break and long wait for this expansion I joined Euphoria and have been raiding with them heroic 7/7 and mythic 2/7 in High Maul.

More Information..

• Raid times: Can you agree with our raid times 21:00 to 00:00 Server time (UTC+1 also Sunday for extra raids)?:
wednesday, thursday, sunday, monday
• Teamspeak: Can you use, SPEAK and LISTEN to Teamspeak?:
Yes
• You and us: Would you be willing to modify or change your spec to assist the guild?:
Yes
• What our guild can benefit from your class and yourself as a player?:
As a hunter I bring freedom of mobility as a ranged dps that can shoot constantly without the need to stop, which makes you capable of performing different specific roles during a fight (for ex. Bracken flamethrower, absorbing overflowing energies at Ko'ragh etc). As a hunter class you bring a much needed Aspect of the Fox for moving and casting in some situations. If you use Lone Wolf you can use 1 of the 8 raid buffs available at any time or different pet buffs if you play with a pet. As far as I am concerned I am a mature experience raider who can be depended on and I am competitive when I need to be trying to achieve the team goals.
• What is your attitude towards progress/what motivate you in WoW?:
As I said I consider myself a competitive person, I like to win and I like to progress and get better at what I do. I always try to optimize my character, my play style and would read and listen to any advice/opinion that would get me better results.
• Why would you like to play with us? What we got that others don't?:
I want to join Curse of Years because it is one of the best raiding guilds, if not the best and I would like to be a part of all that comes with that, and if I remember correctly you were the first to kill Garrosh on Mythic.
• Do you play outside raids or log only for them?:
Yes I log in everyday. I have the alts that I listed and also started a new char as I am very curios about the warrior too :). When I have the time I try to raid on them too usually on my Rogue or DK but currently this expansion was more busy with "administrative" work on them like setting up garrisons, followers, professions etc. Now I will level them to 100 and eventually try to raid with them as well.
• Anything to add?:
I hope you will give me a chance to be a part of your team and for any additional information don't hesitate to ask me or contact me in game at Cayus#2595
• Tell us a joke:
Three guys are put in prison in rooms with just 4 walls and nothing else: a German, a Japanese and a Romanian. The chief guard gives each of them a pair of perfectly polished steel balls, just so they won't get too bored. One month later, the chief guard comes in inspection and asks the three prisoners how they are doing.

The German says: "Sir, thank you for giving me those bowling balls! I had nothing else to do, so I began studying them. I discovered a lot of new theorems in non-euclidean geometry, they're all in this notebook."
The Japanese says: "Sorry, I didn't have enough time but I managed to disassemble the 3 balls you gave me and put together a very advanced robot"
Amazed about their achievments the guard turns very eager to the romanian.
The Romanian says: "Oh sir, I am really sorry... you know, those balls... it's really not my fault, but one of them broke and the other one is nowhere to be found!"

Hi There Cayus,

Could you elaborate for me a bit on your choice of level 100 talent. Would you say that you take lone wolf as a default and only switch to focusing shot if there's extremely minimal movement? Or would you say that it's the other way around (FS as default, Lone wolf for heavy movement)? If you could also give some fight by fight examples that'd be great.

Thanks,
Eremor

Hi Eremor,

I have been playing most of the time with Lone Wolf especially as a Marksman. After switching to Survival I kept playing mainly with Lone Wolf but have been testing Focusing shot with or without Steady Focus as well with some very good results. But not always. I think that TOTH and Focusing Shot would be better and I wouldn't necessarily say only for extremely minimal movement fights. It should be ok for the most fights unless those that require heavy movement like Tectus, Brackenspore flamethrower, Imperator debuff handling maybe Kargath Bladefist. But if you are fully comfortable with it and plan your movement carefully Focusing Shot should be the default choice.
I must admit it felt a bit strange or different first time I used it, especially after being so used with casting Cobra/Steady Shots on the move, but with practice everything should fall into place quite nice.
Reading the hunter forums , everyone is complaining about Focusing Shot because it takes away the "freedom" and that there is no way you can have a hunter with a skill that needs to be cast while standing still. But ...if you think about it it's one skill and everyone is complaining like crazy, what about a mage for example or other casters that have most of their skills castable only while standing still :P. But when you have it all you seem to notice even the slightest change :)

PS: Sorry for the delay in replying I have been really busy with work today.
