Palanjii - Holy Paladin

General:
My real name is Vlad, I'm a 27 y.o. male and I live in sunny Edinburgh (Scotland).
I work in digital marketing as an SEO exec, pretty normal job, but my passions and hobbies are varied. I enjoy gaming, obviously, and have been a real nerd at heart since a very young age. I love reading and writing fantasy novels, I love painting miniatures, binge watching TV shows, and spending time with my Mrs and family.
I'm an easy going dude, but have always been very competitive in all games I played. All of my previous MMO experience outside WoW I was in the top guilds for either PVE or PVP for the games I played (Aion, Tera, Wild Star, Cabal Online, BDO, B&S, etc...) . For mmos I tend to be more of a PvE focused player but on some PvP was just too fun :)
I also had a brush with "fame" when I was 17 and playing CoD on a semi-professional level, I knew and played with guys in Dignitas and TeK9, Just wanted to point this extra out to make sure it gets across that I love the highest level of engagement in any game that I play.
Character Information:
I've had many toons since I started playing WoW back in Cata. My main back then, on Kazzak, was a resto/feral druid:
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ragnaros/Druninjii/simple
I ended up clearing HC for all content back then.
Moved into MoP but had very little time for gaming due to Uni taking up 99% of my time so dropped out of semi hard core riding into a casuals' guild. Here I swapped to my destro lock, and sometimes to my resto/ele shaman, to help out with guild needs for ranged dps/heals:

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ragnaros/Ninjiisha/simple < Shaman
Ended up clearing HC content including SoO.
Moving onto WoD, the guild needed healers and melees so I mained my paly as holy and offspec ret:
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ragnaros/Palanjii/simple
Sometimes I was needed as other roles for the initial raiding in HM so I went lock or shaman to help out.
We cleared on a casual pace all content but mainly did focus on HFC when it came out, which we cleared in HC.
Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
Talents remained the same since I last raided with guild on my pally, main decisions behind these talents being that it suited my playstyle, the style of the raid and the fact that some were just musts for Holy/ret.
How do you prioritize your stats and why?
Stat prio depends on which role and spec I'm playing, but I always try to maximise the best stats to do an effective job in that role. It also depends on what expansion and version we're referring to, as Bliz likes to shake things up quite a bit each time.
My main note is, I always do my research, I always take what fits my and my raids' playstyle and adapt to any new changes along the way.
What do you think about Artifact and how important it is for your spec (traits etc)?
I'll be frank, I haven't done any research for artifacts yet as things might change over time during betas (to which I had no access). I tend to start looking at how my classes will be affected a month prior to release of the latest expansion. Once that date dings I'll be sure on what I want to take.
Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
First and foremost a class must be decided, I tend to be one of those that loves either of the classes aforementioned and love them in either expansion, so I tend to fill the holes that guilds need. Once that's decided:
MMO champion, known good players for each class and overall internet research. I don't like following or reading just one place, as I find that it's pretty bad and doesn't usually fit my play-style completely. I do an informed research of all I can find and then apply what suits it.

I use VuhDO for healing and WA for buffs/trinkets tracking, the usual stuff for raids such as dbm, etc

Raiding History:
Describe your previous/current raiding experience: see above.
Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
Don't remember the name of the guild back in Cata on Kazzak, but after that, I moved to Ragnaros due to a rl friend asking me to join him and then I was with the same bunch of people in 2 guilds:
Bunch of Scrubs (eventually guild leader up and quit the game so we all left the guild as a group and made our own)
They Shall Not Pass
I'm not much of a guild hopper, once I find the mentality and people that I think are fun and I get along with, I stick with them. The only reason I'm leaving my current guild is that they only want to keep being a casual guild whereas I want to do Mythic content and try and be competitive in WoW as well, they don't. Due to the fact that I'm working a steady job and I got time to attend my commitments I just want to up my game in WoW, if I find the right bunch of people to play it with :)
More Information:
Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes, they also happen to fall perfectly in line with my Mrs date night and weekend plans ^^
We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?
I am aware, OK with it.
Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
I follow suit and know when and how to properly communicate both under pressure and when dicking-about.
What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
The right mindset to get to the top for anything the group tries to achieve, along with intelligence and a pinch of humor.
How do you feel about progression raiding?
Love it, much like dark souls, once you kick that boss' ass it feels amazing and rewarding at the same time. Add up a fun group of dedicated and smart players and you got the perfect combination for me :)
Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
Just did some research to look into the most fitting guild for what I'm looking to get out of WoW in Legion.
What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
The mindset behind what I saw written on both website and WoW forums. Sounds like the right bunch of people.
After speaking with rejv and understanding if I might have been a decent fit enough to apply I came here to do so.
Do you play outside of raid?
Nop, I tend to dedicate myself solely to the raid and the guild in any MMOs I play.
Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
My role/class aren't defined yet for Legion, I can continue being a main Holy, off Ret, Pally or I can be either of the classes I mentioned above. My best strengths would lie in the Pally or the Lock, as they are the most recent ones I mained. Nothing prevents me from using the others though.
Only thing is I try to choose one main for the whole expansion rather than have 3-4 swaps during it, unless absolutely needed by the guild.
Tell us a joke:
I wonder what chairs think about all day: "Oh, here comes another asshole."
