General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location:

Michael, 31, Male, Northern Ireland (UK)

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc)

Well, My name is Michael and currently even though I am jobless I care full time for my grandmother so I have an abundance of free time during the evening. I'm 31 years old from Northern Ireland, generally I love to joke around and banter a lot in other words more or less have fun in anything I do however not in a condescending manner towards anyone just lighthearted fun though I do adopt a more serious approach to raiding since it is my primary goal in WoW as a game. I love anime (hentai.....jk) horror films, crazy fantasy stuff, strange music more or less anything that is highly unrealistic lol since I pretty much do have the heart of a kid. My love of fantasy things also extends to the likes of the MCU or essentially the Marvelverse as a whole though I do equally love DC as well for all the bad rep the current DCU movies get. Star Wars is another big love of mine too. As I mentioned Anime that is primarily what used to be the big 3 (Bleach, Naruto and One Piece) but not limited to those in any way since I literally am a big nerd with such things from Japan.

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:

At the moment I have a general dps setup as my talents for single target bosses which on the whole fits most of Antorus since cleave on some fights isn't that huge for warriors. Also the setup compliments the legendaries that are BiS for this setup with the legendary ring massively bumping the execute phases of most fights due to the rampage proc. However there are several cleave friendly fights so my talents would be changed over to suit said fights, like Antoran High Command where my tier 1 would swap to wrecking ball for the haste proc upon an adds death which substantially increase dps output as well as the tier 3 talent to increase whirlwind damage whilst using the legendary belt for the extra tic of whirlwind. The same applies to Eonar (however I don't prioritise logs on said fight due to the overabundance of add pad but the aoe cleave with wrecking ball procs does mean it outperforms single target there) So in essence talents are pretty general for most fights however some do prefer wrecking ball down the line as well (Portal Keeper and Mythic Varimathras for example)

How do you prioritize your stats and why?

Mostly by simming my gear and obtaining information as to what to prio. For the most part fury warriors favour Mastery over haste at the moment due to the benefits of CoF and the Antorus 4 set which increases damage substantially whilst enraged.

What state is your Artifact in?

All specs are 75+ Arms is at 76, Prot 75 and Fury 82, most traits are good however the 3rd battlecry has been elusive.
Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
Mostly researching logs and talking over with an ingame friend most of the time as to what is better and how to effectively perform rotations. Also checking up on forums and some guides every now and then to see if I'm doing things correctly.

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:

Well this will cover slightly below in my current guild experience but will elaborate upon others there too, I joined Distopia at the end of December to return to mythic raiding and establish myself for the next expansion however I was pushing myself too hard and making a few mistakes that was hurting my mythic experience so I essentially said to the officers to end my trial to take a small breather, step back and take a week to look over my personal mistakes and correct a few things about my playstyle with the intent of still becoming a mythic raider. I enjoy progress on bosses as well and I wasn't ever going to make the progress team since they had a pretty large roster and core group that I felt I would not make in so sitting stagnating most of the time while progress went on meant I didn't get a lot of experience in Antorus on the bosses I had hoped to see and progress through. I get on well enough with most of the folks there but I also don't feel like I "fit" in.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:

Prior to legion I was in only a few notable guilds, from Vanilla wow up until the end of TBC I was in a guild called Fleurs De Mal on the server Darkspear and my reason for leaving was that a few core members I was close friends with at the time left or quit so ended up transferring over to Silvermoon shortly after Ulduar was released in WotLK. I was there up until an emotional fallout happened with a close friend at the time and ended up playing with a few old friends from Fleurs up until the guild stopped raiding during the first tier of content in Cataclysm.

After debating what or where I should go an rl friend of mine joined up with me and we headed to lorekeepers on darksorrow however after a few weeks during firelands a mass exodus happened where 10+ people left to make a 10man guild which offered me a spot, i declined and made an application to a guild called SlashCry on Kazzak and proceeded to get 2 top 20 world kills on end tier bosses (Ragnaros in firelands and Deathwing in Dragon Soul - achieve dates are there) the guild disbanded shortly before MoP when everyone got their drakes but I decided to step back and played mostly casual up until I joined Scrubbusters during Siege of Orgrimmar, unfortunately they had too many warriors to offer me a trial at the time so they allowed me to join their alt raid team instead with the prospect of should a space open I could get it, unfortunately my Dad died during this and had to step back to deal with a lot of real life responsibilities.

I missed most of wod but did some raiding not much while social in Scrubbusters (got curve blackhand and imperator) but when legion came I joined up with a guild called WTF Collective on Kor'gall. The guild was fun yet there was no real leadership and due to the "easy" nature of the first tier when Nighthold came things became worse, essentially the guild disbanded and I went to Trainwreck on Sylvanas but I hated the alliance side to took a break.

I came back after a month and Joined No Consensus on Tarren Mill with optimism going into Tomb of Sargeras however after 90+ wipes on mythic goroth the raid environment became very frustrating yet I persisted until an offer was given to me by Forbidden Dreams Prior under the condition that I was away to France for a wedding and that it wouldn't impact my trial, I raided 1 week and but Forbidden Dreams had disbanded when I returned which was infuriating (transfer etc) so I took time off instead of forcing and rushing to desperately find a guild and played casually then made a fresh start a few of weeks ago on my Warrior since it is my biggest love as a class. I probably wouldn't of left No Consensus had it been on a progress boss like Mistress but for Goroth it was not very appealing to spend the first week on mythic wiping on an entry boss.

As for my current residence it is as I have stated in the previous section :)

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?

Yes of course 100%

We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?

Yes won't be a problem

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?

Yes

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?

Reliability and stability, a good positive personality and focused progress raider who strives to do the best he can for the guild.

How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?

Arms is fine for me to hop over to although a tad rusty in the pve department but really wouldn't mind. Tanking however I find a little stressful in raids and very rusty although it was done in the past by me before in previous expansions when needed.

How do you feel about progression raiding?

It is the heart and soul of the game for me in terms of content. As much as I love to get the raid on farm and start doing some more focused dps pushing for logs , that comes after progress to me. I hate not learning and progressing on encounters as it detracts from what is truly enjoyable about engame raiding and learning the "puzzle" of a raid boss and performing its "dance" correctly.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?

I put up a post on the WoW forums and one of your officers Nagassh expressed his interest in myself so I wish to follow up :)

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?

After checking your wowprogress and the fact you guys are progressing on fights at a level I wish to be at it became really appealing to put my application in, not to mention the small chat with Rynamite was very pleasant and gave a further good impression to me.

Do you play outside of raid?

Yes of course, with my abundance of spare time I play on alts and a bit of LoL also.

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?

I just wish to thank you for taking the time to read through my application and if anything else is required to talk about my battletag has been included (though I do have Rynamite there too) please feel free to have a chat anytime.

Tell us a joke:

For being Irish I'm surprisingly bad at jokes so I'll leave you with a very informative documentary about Arachnids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHzdsFiBbFc
