Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
Level 15 I have the tier 20 4 set, which means it is always Totem Mastery, as the buff to your elemental is worth having given your elemental is up more often.
Level 30 is situational, but genearally I take Gust of Wind which is a very good get out of jail free card if you find yourself out of position. Windrush coudl be used situationally but I've not found a use for it in ToS yet, especially as it's a 2 min cd.
Level 45 is also situational, but the mass-stun Lightning surge totem is generally most useful in ToS e.g. the little adds on Desolate Host.
At level 75 I will take Primal Elementalist in most AoE fights in ToS, as they tend to be movement heavy and it is more beneficial to send GCDs on chain lightning to obtain the mastery proc chain lightning overload than sink time into Elemental Blast. This could be a preference though. Primal Elementalist is also viable as part of our 'gambling' build on single target, but I don't have the legendary boots required to use this. Elemental blast will be used on Single Target and spread-adds fights.
At level 90, it's a straight switch between Liquid Magma Totem for AOE stacking adds or Echo of the Elements for Single Target / spread adds. If I had the legendary boots, Storm Elemental is viable as part of our 'gambling' build.
At Level 100, it's a straight chose between Ascendance for single target and Lightning Rod for AOE.
How do you prioritize your stats and why?
Elemental Shamans try to maintain a state weight of roughly 100 haste : 85 crit : 80 mastery in terms of points (and not %). I'm not too far off but could do with a little more crit. There are some versatility pieces I have which if replaced with crit will give me also the perfect balance and I'm working on it.
What state is your Artifact in?
Solid, it's currently level 65. I did reroll this tier so not too bad considering.
Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
Mostly Storm, Earth and Lava website for general knowledge.
Conversations with other shamans on the ele discord
I also sim my character frequently to identify gear upgrades.

Just hopped into a few seconds of KJ LFR for this. It's basically ElvUI with DBM, Details, WeakAuras and Exorsus Raid Tools
WeakAuras I use for boss specific mechanics, trinket procs (I used Whispers in the Dark) and buff management (Ascendance procs from my legendary gloves, for example.

Raiding History:
Describe your previous/current raiding experience:
I have a long history raiding on other characters from ICC up to the first tier of WoD on a priest and a paladin. Particular from Cata onwards I raided at a decent mid to upper old-heroic level, highlight perhaps being clearing Dragon Soul heroic.
During WoD I spend my time playing Rated Battelgrounds as a balance druid, where I achieved a 2k rating from pugging, which I am reasonably proud of.
As for Legion, I raided Emerald Nightmare / ToV (7/7M, 2/3M) and Nighthold (8/10M) as a balance druid.
Into this tier, I raided up to 5/9M on my balance druid, at which point I decided I wanted to change class, as I enjoy the elemental shaman class fantasy and I was bored with the balance druid's procedural rotation.
I quickly geared up my Elemental Shaman and have reach 5/9M cleared. I have almost 90 pulls on Mistress too.
Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
In Legion, I stayed with a guild on Kazzak called Elysian with my balance druid. I left in ToS earlier in the tier due to the roster falling apart. My druid was briefly in a guild called Once Again on the same realm which is where I decided I'd had enough of the balance druid (it was where I got 5/9M on the druid) and also they raided till 01:00, which was just that little bit too late.
My current guild with my shaman is Crimson on Tarren Mill. A great bunch guys but even though they raid 3 nights a week, you are only really guaranteed to raid on the farm night at the start of the week and the roster might struggle for day 2 and always struggles for day 3. As such, I can't see the guild getting to the next level which is where I want to be.
More Information:
Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes, it's pretty much perfect for my personal circumstances.
We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?
Yes I saw that in the sticky on this forum, and I think it's a great idea.
Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes, I have a mic. Being English I have no problems with comprehension....
What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
I think my parses are pretty solid and that I am mechanically competent.
I am dedicated and will pretty much always turn up. If I can't make it, I will let you know rather than no-show unannounced.
I'm older so I have some pretty thick skin too.
How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?
I have resto. I've not ever played it in a raid environment. I'd 'give it a go', but best if I practiced on heroic clears first.
How do you feel about progression raiding?
I wouldn't be hear if I didn't feel I wanted to get more involved in it.
Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
From a WoW Progress search (see below).
What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
I just searched for guilds with a similar raid schedule and slightly better progress than I on WoWProgress. I then had a look at your logs to see if you had a solid attendance record. I was happy with what I saw so hence the app.
Do you play outside of raid?
Yes, I will probably be on most nights, sometimes I'm out on Saturday nights. I'm keen to get some mythic+ going on Friday in particular.
Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
Only that I hope you can appreciate the effort I've put into this, thanks for reading.
Tell us a joke:
Englishman, Irishman and a Scotsman on a desert island, shipwrecked for 2 years. One day they find a genie in a lamp, the Englishman rubs it and a genie appears, saying:
" I am the genie of the lamp, you each have one wish"
Englishman says:
"Fantastic! Get me out of here back to my family!" ...whoosh, off he goes back to England.
Scotsman says:
"Brilliant! I miss my local tavern, send me there so I can drink myself happy!" ... whosh off he goes back to Scotland.
The Irishman is stuck. He takes time to reflect on what his wish should be, weighing up what the best thing for him would be.
After 2 weeks, he says to the genie:
"Genie, you know what, I've been thinking about this for two weeks and I've got nowhere. I wish the other two were back to help me out..."
