Curse of Years Application form.
Remember your application is the first impression we have on you, be as in depth as possible on all areas of the application.

General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location: Gianni, 20 Years old, Male, Antwerp - Belgium

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc)
I've always used to be into computing and IT, however due to a lack of interest in my IT studies I've shifted towards a teachers degree. I'm currently studying both history and English. Outside of college, I don't really do all that much, I try to enjoy my time as much as I can both with friends and playing WoW.

Character Information: Nalgust, Hellfire-EU - Mistweaver Monk

Battletag: GodzLikeNore#2103

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:

It's quite difficult to predict what my current talent setup will be as they change constantly.

T1 - Chi Burst - I generally stick with Chi Burst as it provides the largest amount of raid healing, In dungeons this choice remains unless I reliably am able to use Zen Pulse on the tank with large pulls that remain in melee range. 95% of the time I'll be running Chi Burst.

T2 - Chi Torpedo - For general content I'll be using Chi Torpedo.
Tiger's Lust - Recently I've been focused on using Tiger's Lust more, as it can help slower people on mechanics as well as be an easy way to dispel roots.

T3 - Mist Wrap - By Default I use Mist Wrap as the ability to move during Soothing Mist allows me to get more free healing in while doing mechanics.
Spirit of the Crane - During fights with high off-phases, such as Kil'Jaeden, Desolate host (Depending on the setup) I may occasionally use Spirit of the Crane if more Mana is needed and the fight allows this, however on Mythic difficulty I doubt I'll get this chance often.
Lifecycles - I generally avoid lifecycles as I don't find it valuable enough as mana reduction when considering the other talents available.

T4 - Leg Sweep - Pretty much default.
Ring of Peace - Has it's niche uses. It's my go-to option on Necrotic Affix.

T5 - Diffuse Magic - This is my default choice, as I don't find many hard hitting physical damage abilities.
Dampen Harm - I use this on certain fights such as a high M+ Tyrannical Smashspite the Hateful as this can provide a great help in tanking the Hateful Charges.

T6 - Refreshing Jade Wind - My go-to option on fights where there is constantly damage to Melee, often paired with Spirit of The Crane.
Invoke Chi-Ji, The Red Crane - Mostly used in fights with high burst healing needed or dungeons which require high healing on certain trash packs, eg. The second pack behind Hymdall on either Teeming or Fortified.
Summon Jade Serpent Statue - Mostly used during solo content or in decent levels of M+ to add as much dps while still keeping healing up. A must whenever there is no available Single Target healer in the raid (our raid setup usually consists of a Monk and Druid healer)

T7 - Focused Thunder - I will generally use Focused Thunder as this provides me with moderate mana reduction and flexibility in healing.
Mana Tea - On fights with high burst healing phases, Mana tea takes my priority as this is far more valuable then Focused Thunder

How do you prioritize your stats and why?
I mainly go for Intellect and Crit. with Haste in dungeons and a balanced amount of Mastery / Versatility.
As crit is both a main for a solid Healing as well as damage increase I tend to look for mostly crit gear. Haste is only really necessary in scenarios where very high burst healing without cd's is needed so I will swap to a larger amount of haste if needed.
I also tend to enjoy having some Leech as it really helps in keeping myself topped off at all times without needing any self healing.

What state is your Artifact in?
Currently at 62 traits.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
Both the Monk discord, PeakofSerenity and Icy-veins. But most of all by playtesting and see what works best with my playstyle and gear setup.

Raiding History:
I'm currently 9/9 Heroic entirely off pugs and 9/10 Mythic Nighthold (post Tomb Release as it's fully pugged).

Describe your previous/current raiding experience: As I only started playing World of Warcraft during the middle of Nighthold (a little over 4 months ago) I've raided in Nighthold as a Windwalker monk. However since I felt like I could achieve more playing other specs. This is why I currently favor both Mistweaver and Brewmaster over my dps spec. I currently pug Heroic Tomb with 10 Kil'jaeden kills.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them: My previous / currently guild is Fireflyers on Arathor/Hellfire. I joined them as the friend who got me into the game is in there. However, I feel alone as the only 2 people I really played with either changed realm to go and raid mythic or became less active. There is no feeling of progressing as a group in either raids of mythic+. Hence why I pug everything. I will remain friends with them however as I can help them run their heroic clears.

More Information: Most of all, I play quite a bit of Guardian Druid alongside with Brewmaster. I very much enjoy playing them and would play them over healer if you want me to. Of course I'm slightly less knowledgeable with both those classes, however guides have gotten me very far.

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes.

We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?
Yes.

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes, I can.

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
I'm eager to learn off any mistake and am happy to aid in theorycrafting how to have a better take on a mechanic. I'm reliable on doing my job and having good understanding of others cooldowns and what is needed to down a boss.

How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?
Windwalker, not very as I don't master using Serenity and I feel like my dps is lackluster.
Brewmaster, very comfortable, would play it as main spec if needed.

How do you feel about progression raiding?
I'd love to get further up into a raid tier, there is always something to do when progression raiding as this is a semi-hardcore guild and not a guild who wishes to full clear for a high spot on the world ranking.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
I've heard about Curse of Years when talking to a couple of friends who wanted to help me in the matter of finding people to play with, as there is no real wish in my current guild for either mythic raiding or high M+ content.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
The thought of perhaps finding people who share my vision in wishing to progress and learn more about fights, mechanics and their class.

Do you play outside of raid?
Yes, I very much enjoy Mythic+, however having to pug it creates a quite toxic environment. I do the eventual BG as well however I'm not very good at pvp :)

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
Not really, thanks for asking though.

Tell us a joke:
My /played for my actual time playing the game.

Edit: Added in more info on why I prefer which stats.
