Battletag: Djxinator#2178

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:

My talents depend entirely on the fight. I'll give you an example or 5...Assume the below bosses are on Mythic.

On Chronomatic Anomaly, in my current guild, I go full Ascendance build. Mainly due to the lack of boss damage if I were to play Lightning Rod. I believe LR would be beneficial to my own personal DPS but raid-wise it's better for me to stay Ascendance.

On Trillax, I prefer to stay Ascendance, although some people might choose to go Icefury for the movement aspects of the fight.

On Spellblade I go full Lightning Rod, even going as far as to change my legendary item to the Chain Lightning Bracers (I normally use the EQ Shoulders). On Mythic the adds last long enough for me to justify the drastic change, they need to die ASAP and Lightning Rod damage goes off the charts if you target swap correctly.

Krosus is full ST so Ascendance is likely the best choice, Icefury will be close however.

Botanist is an oddity because it's a cleave/AoE fight but Ascendance wins out here due to LS Procs and the ability to cheese your Flame Shocks up to 10 or more minutes with correct target selection.

How do you prioritize your stats and why?

Stat priorities are as follows
Ascendance - Mastery (don’t go above 86.5%) = Critical Strike >> Versatility >> Haste
Lightning Rod - Critical strike = Mastery >>> Versatility > Haste

These are fluid and I usually Sim every new upgrade to ensure I'm gearing correctly. I then output some stat weights into Pawn after every Sim to use as a guide.

What state is your Artifact in?

Since completing the Artifact questline in 7.2 I have dropped down to 39 traits, I think everyone has.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience: I've been raiding since early BC, but the only relevant experience would be in this expansion.

7/7M EN (Cutting Edge)
4/10M NH (Krosus)

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:

The only relevant guild here is Conviction. People stopped turning up for raids, and we were filling spots with casuals. A few members of the guild weren't up to scratch but were not replaced. The guild is now in its dying stages as numerous people have left in the last few days, some to CoY.

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance? Indeed I can

We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it? I am now!

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak? Yep

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?

- The willingness to learn and the ability to adapt on the fly.
- I'm always prepared.
- Consistent DPS.
- A knack for analysing my mistakes and fixing them.
- A bodybag for insults because I'm ginger.
- A Yorkshire accent.

How do you feel about progression raiding?

I've always been into progression raiding (aside from WoD where I chose Arena). I believe it to be the true endgame in WoW, and it can produce some of the best moments in gaming, period. I actually prefer progressing on a new boss over farming existing bosses for gear.

In short, I love it.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?

You guys are well known on the server and being from what is essentially a sister guild, you guys have come up in conversation.

I know Takkar, Halaa and Ghettosmolf, from Conviction.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?

I feel that I need to step up my game. Conviction was a big step forward for me but with the decline of the guild I've decided to shoot even higher. CoY seemed to be the logical next step.

Do you play outside of raid?

I do, but only if there is reason to. I can't stand pugs, but if there is the option to join in with guild activities, I'm straight on it.

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?

Cant think of anything

Any word on this? I haven't been online in around a week due to the lack of people online and the unfortunate loss of Conviction's raiding team means I have no real reason to log on.

I don't like being "that guy" but I've never waited a week for an application to a guild before.

Hi Jon, I'm sorry that it's taken us so long to get back to you, but recently we've had quite a few applications to go through. We've given your application a lot of thought, and have come to the conclusion that we just can't work with another Elemental shaman right now and thus have to decline your application.

We truly wish you the best of luck in your search for a new home.
