Battletag: elvya#2515

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
Tier 1: Enlightenment – better for progression as (1) there’s unfamiliarity so damage is more unpredictable, therefore it’s easy to waste mana and/or people take excessive dmg, (2) less healers are often preferred, (3) it’s also solid in general this tier as fights are AoE dmg heavy and AoE healing spells are typically mana intensive. However, I sometimes take Trail – good for fights where people are taking a lot of ST dmg.
Tier 2: Angelic Feather – well positioned it can help people to move who lack movement speed, but better when not coupled with their movement CDs. Therefore, unconventionally, I often take Body and Mind though – in a tight pinch it’s slightly faster to get it off and offers some healing.
Tier 3: Afterlife – other talents in this tier are CC based, 22s spirit of redemption/(angel) says it all!
Tier 4: Light of the Naaru – holy words are powerful healing spells and having these CD even faster is very beneficial to healing; Guardian Spirit (very rarely in raids) – I'd consider this if I need to tank heal, however I managed without tank healing Krosus progression and the tanks were kept up fine.
Tier 5: Piety is the go-to here, but I’ll take this on fights where I notice that PoM is getting good use (intense damage on the raid). Otherwise I’ll go for Surge, especially where mana is still struggling as it offers free flash heals
Tier 6: Divinity – other two on this tier are AoE heals and don’t offer the same healing benefits – this offers a good amount of increased healing after using holy word spells, and couples nicely with tier 4.
Tier 7: Benediction – go to talent the auto-renew chances make it a good choice again for mana, offers healing without having to directly cast/put yourself on GCD (particularly good for dmg intensive fights) -> all round great talent. Apothesosis – I ran with this one for the whole of EN as I found we needed the extra raid CD, but have not used it so far in NH. (CoH – only a m+ talent really, heals 5 targets and is very mana intensive.)

How do you prioritize your stats and why?
Mastery*> Crit> Haste> Versa
*to ~40%, I’m continually experimenting with this but so far, have not seen enough improvement pooling more into mastery; it’s a hot with 2 ticks, useful for heavy raid damage but keeping uptime on flash heal crits improves overall healing.

What state is your Artifact in?
40. I need to invest more time into this, as the new gold talent is a high priority.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
Icy Veins and HowToPriest as starting points, but I also look into the logs of various hpriests on WarcraftLogs to see what spells are they using a lot of (but also evaluate the fight – is there excessive raid damage), and follow this up by looking them up on the armory to see how their stats are balanced.

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:
- 5/13Hc (BD/BoT/TWF)
- 6/7Hc (FL)
- 8/8Hc (DS)
- 12/13Hc (ToT)
- 12/13Hc (SoO)
- 11/13M (HFC)
- 7/7M (EN), 2/3M (ToV), 3/10M (NH), experience on Krosus and Spellblade.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
Proud - Magtheridon-EU: Members were very dedicated, but there was a lack of drive/passion as there was no incentive to improve. I wanted a challenge, somewhere people tried. I don’t mind wiping – it’s the entire point of progress and to me the point of playing, even if you’re simply waiting for a pull where the stars line up/RNG works in your favour, but if people don’t give it some passion, it won’t happen!

Vehemence – Ravencrest-EU: Fell apart on the guild killer Krosus, as people were not soaking and people stopped showing up.

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes, or I wouldn't be applying!

We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?
Yes

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
Calm, willingness, always prepared, free enchants (although always out of crystals...)

How do you feel about progression raiding?
Isn't it the entire point of endgame? I don't simply feel that I should be entitled to end game clearance because I pay a sub, I want to have earnt it, spent hours wiping and making progress, get to the point where you're waiting for RNG sails to spin the right way... I personally play for a challenge. The whole point of raiding to me, is spending hours wiping - when I healed beth hc back in Firelands, and was solo healing downstairs, I felt very challenged and had a lot of fun - but when we all got it right I felt a huge sense of achievement

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild? Wowprogress

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years? I want a guild that has a strong core/foundation. Whilst I appreciate that many guilds are starting up and trying to establish this for themselves, it's very easy for a guild to fall apart these days. It would be amazing to join a guild like yours that has been going for some time and is really pushing the content whilst current; and if I manage to earn my raid spot and keep bringing the performance to retain it, know I have essentially a home for tiers to come.

Do you play outside of raid? Yes; even when my weapon was AP capped I enjoyed pushing high m+ with friends and improving my healing/general awareness abilities. Right now, the AP farm is on!

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
I might not be well-progressed this tier, but I've been playing hpriest since cata when disc was all the rage, and found that I could bring the numbers better than the 4 discos on the team whilst executing the tactics. I stuck with it through the expansions as I loved it, and still do - it's a class I'm very experienced on.

Tell us a joke: (better not get me started on the cringe, one liner jokes :) )
