If you wish to apply to us, this is the place for you!

General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location:
Hello! My name is Edin and I am a 28yr old man. I was born in Bosnia, grew up in Denmark and now I live in southern Sweden.

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc):
I have a soon-to-be 1yr old daughter and a wonderful wife who I spend a lot of time with. Besides that I occasionally play some badminton and try to hit the gym 3-4 days a week. I also live in the same town as most of my family, who are very important to me. Other than that I don't find enough time to do anything else.

I am a very hardworking person, which translates into games as well. I am a very competitive person by nature which always makes me push myself to the limit. I am also very loyal and never try to put myself above others.

Other than that, I am very easy to speak to and have an easy time fitting into a group of people.

Character Information:

Before I go into depth, I wanna say that I am applying as both a warrior and a demon hunter. Reason for this is, I spoke to Eremor and he was not hyped about another DH. His reason being that you don't know how good DH will be. Which I understand, but that could be said with most classes since tuning is not 100% done yet. And DH did not parse bad in recent mythic testing.

So hopefully applying as both will increase my chances of joining the guild, which is what the most important thing is for me.
Your raiding times fits perfectly, and your “About Us” is right down my alley. I really don't mind playing either or, as long as the people are great, which I hope you guys are.

Ill present the DH, but if you have any questions regarding the warrior, just feel free to ask.

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
I am mainly talking about havoc, since that is what I am applying as, but I have played alot of vengeance as well on the alpha / beta servers.

Since things are still changing, making a talent page now would be useless. Though I can tell you that I always take the highest performing talents, depending on the fight. Regardless of the “fun factor”.
I hope you have enough faith in me, for me to know my class well enough and know which talents are the best for the current encounter.
I do extensive research about builds, stats and gear. Both self testing and speaking to the heavy theory- and simcrafters.

How do you prioritize your stats and why?
As it stands now this is the current stat weight: agi > crit > versa > haste > mastery.
Reason for crit being so high is mainly that your main spender(chaos strike) refunds half the resource used(it used to be full and crit was pretty much equal or better than agi). Reason for versa being better than mastery is that you gain more damage for each versa point compared to mastery. This is mainly due to mastery giving movement speed as well.
Not to mention that versatility also gives some damage reduction.

If you choose chaos blades talent, then mastery becomes slightly better than versa, but that is only on single target, and it's quite minimal. But to min-max you could have 2 sets of gear. That is not really viable until everything is on farm status.

What do you think about Artifact and how important it is for your spec (traits etc)?
Personally I like the idea of artifacts and the progression tree they have. It gives you something else to do than just getting better gear and farming rep. It gives a more lasting feeling of
progression.
Another side I like of it, it makes class stacking slightly less attractive. At least at the start of the expansion. That mainly affects the world first guilds.

The negative side of it is, that you feel less powerful in your offspec at the start of the expansion than you would without. And you also get a feeling of being more bound to one spec. But that is only at the start and will change later once you accumulate more artifact knowledge and power.

The golden traits for havoc are not that great compared to some of the “normal” ones. Which is a bit sad, but it's okay. The traits are not as important for havoc as they are for arms warrior for example. But they are still very good nonetheless.

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
I have been playing mmos for about 15 years(starting with Anarchy Online) and have gathered a lot of knowledge about how different things work. Obviously wow is more complex than that and to be able to perform the at the highest level you need to do some heavy testing. I have no idea how many hours I have spent at target dummies trying different things, but it's a lot.

When I raided hardcore I used to test a lot of stuff myself as I mentioned above, and I also partook in theorycrafting discussions on sites like Elitist Jerks.
Since I decided I wanted to take Legion more seriously than I have WoD, I joined the warrior and demon hunter discord channels where I discuss different aspects of the class with the other people.

Paste your UI: http://imgur.com/a/lVKxV
I've just shown quickly how my UI looks. It was a bit messed up with certain abilities since the pre-patch. But I hope you can see what you are looking for. It's basically the same for the DH.

Other than that I use Weakauras for almost everything.

Link to your raid logs using using LINK.:
Since I have not raided actively for a while, I sadly cannot show you logs.

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:
I have cleared everything from vanilla to wotlk(excluding sunwell since I got a job where I had no chance of raiding. I also missed some bosses in vanilla naxx).
This includes doing things like the immortal title, tribute to immortality and alone in the dark, etc
In cataclysm I stopped before Firelands came out, due to work.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
Since i've been playing since beta i've been in quite some guilds, so I won't mention them all. Only those that meant the most, sorta. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and I can go more in depth.

Before joining the Scholars of Light on Bronzebeard, I cleared MC, Onyxia and BWL with Laid to Rest and Nefarious on the Ragnaros server.
After joining Scholars of Light I helped them progress through ZG, MC, Onyxia and ultimately BWL. After proving myself to be the best player and helping with the raid leading I was promoted to officer status. I stayed with Scholars until we downed most bosses in vanilla Naxx. After that our GM decided to sell his account and the guild was in a bad shape which lead to some players quitting, etc.

I took the opportunity to start fresh on Alonsus, since that server was coming out shortly after. I made a guild there called Ascendance(same guild who got world 7th on Mar'gok and world 9th on Blackhand). Here I got to experience what it meant being a guild master, raid leader and main tank(warrior) all in one. The guild was very successful and we cleared BWL very fast, even surpassing Pacifism from Vek´Nilash in clearing speed from server start.

Sadly I was only 18 years back then, and not very mature. I succumbed to the pressure of everything, so I ended up taking most of the guild bank and transferring back to Scholars of Light to play with them in TBC.

I decided to reroll to a shadow priest in TBC. I stayed with Scholars until SSC and TK was cleared. At that point I wanted to raid more, clear thing faster, but the people in the guild were just not good enough. So we came to a mutual agreement that I should try and find something better.

I then applied to Inner Sanctum, who were one of the better guilds in the world back then. I got accepted and cleared Black Temple with them. After some time I had people from Scholars coming over to my place during one summer when my parents were out travelling. They begged me to come back and help them with the raids.

So I said goodbye to Inner Sanctum and came back to Scholars. I traded accounts with the old main tank, since he didn't want to tank anymore but wanted to be a dps. I helped the guild back on track as the raid leader and main tank and we managed to get to Illidan.
This was when I got a job from my dad's place that I couldn't refuse. So I had to stop playing since I was working 14.00-22.00 every day. I got released from my work when the 2008/2009 crash hit.

I barely touched the game until wotlk came out, and I decided to roll a warrior on my best friends server. I joined his guild(who were pretty bad) and did naxx with them but shortly after, my friend stopped playing since he got bored of the game. I decided to continue playing and joined Chimaera. I cleared Ulduar with them, and after Ulduar the guild disbanded. I then joined Flare EU.
The guild decided to give me the first Shadowmourne. During Icecrown Citadel progress, I had a falling out with the leadership. Mainly because the GM and another officer were dragging us down, but nothing we could do. I then said I would probably leave after LK was dead. So I stopped taking loot and still gave it my 100% until he died.

After he died, I applied to Ensidia and got accepted the day after. I was in Ensidia until a bit before Firelands was released(which I think was 1½ years since I joined). Because the progress took so long in the first tier of Cataclysm, I missed the 1st kill of Al’akir and Sinestra because I was on a long time planned snowboarding trip. Even though I was there for the progression, I missed the 1st kills and that crushed my soul.

At this point I got a new job and I couldn't commit to the hours required. So I stepped down as a raider and became a social. Sadly the guild was pretty much dead before Firelands came out and I quit wow until WoD pretty much.

At the start of WoD some of the old Ensidia members, including me, made a guild that was only supposed to do heroic content and some pvp. But before BRF came out people got tired and stopped playing. I stopped as well since I had no intentions of playing alone.

And here I am today.

More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes, that will not be a problem. I will need to take off some hours from work now and then, but that is something I am willing to do.

We are raiding Sundays at start of each Tier for 3-4 weeks. Are you aware of it?
Yes, I am well aware.

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes.

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
I am a very quick learner who rarely make mistakes. And almost never the same mistake twice. I am very fast to figure the best way to maximize my DPS on encounters. Always striving to improve myself each try.

I don't mind doing special assignments on encounters, and you can trust me to do them well.
Also, I don't mind playing my offspec when needed.

In the past I have been vocal with helping making tactics and help people reduce the risk of making mechanical errors. Even if you know how to do a boss, sometimes you have to tailor it for the strengths of your people in the raid.

How do you feel about progression raiding?
Ive progress raided a lot in the past, and it is one of the biggest reasons to play WoW. I learned that the hard way in WoD. The game is just not as fun without proper people and raiding.
Nothing beats that feeling when you kill a boss that you, as a group have fought so hard to bring down.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
I decided that I wanted to find a more casual guild than I am used to for Legion. Something that fits my hours and my goals. So after looking around for some time, I found you guys.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
Since I've played quite a lot of alpha and beta, and know there will be more world content then there has been in the past, I knew I wanted to be on a PVE server. Reason for this is that my game time is limited and I don't want to be ganked when I am doing world quests and such.
Funny how times change, because few years back, I was the guy ganking people over and over again.

So you had a good server, good raiding hours and from what I can see good atmosphere in the guild. Hence why I applied.

Do you play outside of raid?
Yes, I do. I am hoping to get a chance to play with you guys outside of raiding. Maybe even some other games.

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
Now that I am married. Bought a house and fully renovated it, and gotten a daughter. I feel like I finally have time to enjoy myself again.
It has been quite hectic the past 2 years with everything happening in life and I finally feel like i've settled in and have time again. So I am hoping with all my heart that you will give me a chance to prove myself. Both as a person and as a player.
I know that I have not raided for a long time, and that the game has changed a lot. But I can with almost 100% certainty say that I will perform well and that I won't disappoint you.

As I said earlier, I am applying as dps demon hunter and dps warrior. And I can always tank when needed.
I really don't mind playing either, but will play what the guild needs the most.

Tell us a joke:
What's the similarity between alcohol free beer and licking your sisters pussy?
Even though it tastes good, it still feels wrong.

Hi,

Nice to see someone from the same server I raided for most of my wow time, even with same people as you. I bet Ailawiu, Whi, Paluch and Hatilla might ring a bell to you. Also remember that Scarab Lord sell and what occured after.

Well, good luck with your app,
Yse.

Yeah the polish crew! I remember them very well.

Hatilla the legend. I remember when we were doing major domo, and he kept being lowest on damage every try.. Until we realized he was attacking domo himself.

Thanks!
