Character Related Information

  • What spec you'r playing and what you can tell us about it (inc. talents, glyphs, most important usage of your abilities)?:
15- Astral Shift- Solid Damage reduction skill for when things get bad, more consistent and controlled then the other two.

30- Windwalk Totem- only talent with practical uses within a raid environment.

45- Call of the Elements- allows an extra HST every 3 minutes, while not a massive gain the only other choice is Totemic Projection which has really bad interaction with Spirit Link.

60-Echo of the Elements- It gives me access to another raid cooldown but also more importantly an extra charge of riptide which in turn can proc the 4 set bonus for free heals. I also use Ancestral Swiftness depending on the fight.

75- Rushing Streams- The strongest talent in this tier throughput wise, allows better spread/movement healing.

90- Elemental Blast- Use on CD for 1000 spirit +500 random stat. Huge chunk of spirit which can be passed upon on gear to pump into other stats. Lackluster tier

100-High tide- Strong talent, made even stronger with 4 set and extra riptides from echo. Cloudburst is to high of a risk for the reward, not enough fights where there is constant damage

Glyphs are lackluster for shamans so they are cookie cutter

Glyph of healing stream - damage reduction
Glyph of Healing Wave- I get some heals when i use it
Glyph of Spiritwalkers Grace- extra 5 seconds of healing on the move.

  • What stats are you prioritizing?:
Depends on healer setup. Mastery is theoretically resto's strongest stat but is extremely weak if the group has lots of shields.

Atm I have dropped a large chunk of mastery and taken more haste and multistrike. Both of these stats aid the 4 set bonus as the proc can activate from multistrikes and haste allows me to get in an extra heal during the proc.

For longer fights e.g Blackhand i would arrange my gear more towards mastery and crit, both promote longevity on a very mana intensive fight.

  • Share your guild history as well as reason for leaving them and your current guild ?:
Started playing wow towards the end of BC doing many of the raids with friends and small guilds.

Mystical Odour- Joined week into Wotlk and stayed with them for 4-5 years. Great guild, great players left because many people got bored of wow and they had to drop from 25 to 10 man, I really wanted to be doing 25 so i left and joined Conviction.

Conviction- Been with Conviction for 2 years, left recently due to my work hours changing and I couldn't make the Sunday or the 18.30 start on Tuesday. Before Siccy and Gnarl left they expressed that people can't be relied on if they cant keep high attendance and they are right. My hours conflict with their rota, so I felt it best if i left in search of something more fitting of the hours I can make.

  • Describe your past/current raid experience:
    This expansion-
    HM-6/7 mythic
    BF-8/10 mythic

    Past-
Pretty much everything BC onwards at highest level.

More Information..

  • Raid times: Can you agree with our raid times 21:00 to 00:00 Server time (UTC+1 also Sunday for extra raids)?:
    wednesday, thursday, monday
  • Teamspeak: Can you use SPEAK and LISTEN to Teamspeak?:
    Yes
  • You and us: Would you be willing to modify or change your spec to assist the guild?:
    Yes
  • What our guild can benefit from your class and yourself as a player?:
I consider myself a very loyal person. While my attendance has slipped a little at conviction your hours suit mine so i should be able to keep to very high attendance. I keep up to date with all things shaman and like to think that I play it at a high level which can be seen by pushing endgame content every expansion I've played.
  • What is your attitude towards progress/what motivate you in WoW?:
I like to progress, I like the feeling of knowing you'v downed everything Blizzard can throw your way. I like being a part of a team that have the same goals.
  • Why would you like to play with us? What we got that others don't?:
I have friends in the guild. You have been highly recommended. Iv'e been told that you have fun and enjoy raids something i feel has been missing for a while in Conviction. I'm confident in your ability to push the highest content.
  • Do you play outside raids or log only for them?:
I mainly come on for raids but will log on to play with specs/talents/gem/enchants and daily's. More then happy to log on if you need me for activity's outside of raid.
  • Anything to add?:
Spoken to Rynamite the other day and it was pointed out that while I am mainly Resto I'm happy to play elemental or any spec if the guild pleases.
  • Tell us a joke:
How do you find Will Smith in a snowstorm?

    Look for the fresh prints.

Hey mate,

I've known Shamps for a few years now. I was first in Mystical Odour with him, and then Conviction. He's a nice guy and a solid player who I think would fit well into CoY.

Good luck!

Hello Shamps,

Thank you very much for a lovely application; we have some ongoing discussions happening within the healing team at the moment (with particular reference to plans for 6.2), so while we conclude all that can I assure you that you are very much on our minds, but it may be a few days before we make a final decision.

Regards,
Rose

Hello Shamps,

We would love to have you onboard. As previously discussed we would like you to play elemental whilst keeping a viable and geared (assisted by the raid, of course) restoration off spec. We'll discuss the details and how-to's at a later point.

Feel free to whisper one of us for a guild invite - and welcome to Curse of Years.
