General:

Your Name, Age, Gender and Location:

My name is Chris, I'm 30 from Scotland.

Tell us a little bit about yourself (non-WoW related Interests, Hobbies etc)

I've recently started a new job for a roadworks and utiltiies company. I enjoy playing golf and spend a majority of my freetime playing games or talking with friends.

Character Information:

Armory Link: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/chara ... thor/veeto

Battletag: Veeto#2676

Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:

My talents are more or less cookie cutter M+ talents currently i do tend to swap in netherwalk and bladerush dependent on encounter and what the fight entails and should there be some specific mechanics that i need to soak or cheese etc. The rest of the DH talents are pretty much standard not too much flexibility in them.

How do you prioritize your stats and why?

My current stats are based towards Crit/Vers => Haste > Mastery. However as I'm gearing I'm throwing in just generic upgrades until i can adequately optimize my character

Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?

Generally i speak to people from past guilds or use the class discord to find out most of my relevant information as there's a lot of ideas and theorycrafting getting thrown around in there alot of the time so you can pick up snippets of information and also add your own input to it. Also i sim my character to make sure that any implemented changes that have been made will affect my output or see if the trade-off is worth the loss etc.

What state is the state of your Heart of Azeroth?

My neck is currently 51 although will improve as I've recently only came back to the game after starting my new job.

Link to your raid logs using using https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/eu/the-maelstrom/veero#zone=19&difficulty=4.:

Don't have any real relevant logs unfortunately as i was raiding in a late night guild as my last job required me to play from 2am ST onwards so the raiding scene is quite dead there as you can imagine.

Raiding History:

Describe your previous/current raiding experience:

My raiding experience has varied, I was a casual player through a majority of vanilla wow. Moving into TBC i started to take the game a bit more seriously with all content cleared when it was relevant including mu'ru prenerf with some of the earlier members of ensidias WOTLK core team. Into WOTLK i raided with Aspire who were top 30 world for a number of content patches before eventually joining Ensidia up till ICC. After the exploits of the guild i quit untill cataclysm where i came back and fresh leveled and started to progress with Numen at world 17 throughout the first tier of raids (3 raids) as a shadowpriest. The demand and commitment to raid 5-6 nights a week over the extended amount of years i had been doing it started to pay its toll on me as i was unable to keep committing to these ludicrous hours so after achieving my goals for the first tiers of cataclysm i decided to take a break from the hardcore scene and continued on Pvping with friends untill MOP. During MOP i joined a 3 nights a week raiding guild achieving top 200 on all tiers and also started doing the challenge mode dungeons as part of a boosting community. I didn't really play much of WOD untill hellfire citadel i came back to the game to help a friends guild who were desperate for players. We did manage to clear all content eventually... Legion was when i started working evenings, i was playing hardcore for the first couple of months doing M+ with methods core members mainly Gozzie, fragnance and Gingi before eventually real life took over and i really haven't had a proper raiding home that was decent since that point. My late night guild was fairly average. Achieving cutting edge was almost an impossible task as we only managed G'huun throughout the whole of this expansion.

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:

Not to continue on from my wall of text too much most of my previous guilds were left due to content being cleared and burnout from the game.

Aspire - Content cleared guild fizzled out.
Numen - Officer team killed the guild and burned a lot of bridges in the process.
Bad Omen - Guild disbanded
Method - Was a rotational player for the splitruns not a main raider.
Ensidia - Saronite Bombs.

-------

After Midnight - Guild Disbanded due to lack of late night playerbase and merged with another guild in the scene, but as mentioned i can't play latenight anymore as i now work daytime hours instead of nights
More Information:

Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?

100% I rarely finish work later than 6PM.

We also raid on Sunday at the start of a new raiding tier. Are you aware of this?

Yes it's no problem.

Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?

Yes

What qualities do you bring to a Raid?

I like to believe that i bring an experienced player that isn't afraid to share input or try to take on responsibility to fulfill tasks instead of just whoring DPS and trying to prove i can smash buttons harder than anyone else.

How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?

I can play both specs and most classes in the game.

How do you feel about progression raiding?

I love the thrill of finally getting that kill you've been working towards especially on an end boss when you've put in alot of work and hours and the boss finally drops. I believe there's no better feeling in WoW.

Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?

I heard about the guild from Arathel, hes been my real life friend of over 10 years.

What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?

The thought of being able to play with a good group of players and one of my closest friends.

Do you play outside of raid?

Due to the circumstances I'm currently playing outside of raid to work on my neck level and improve my characters gear. I tend to do whats needed every week even if i can't maintain steady hours every single day i will always complete all my weekly tasks.

Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?

I'm aware im a little behind what's probably expected but i am a dedicated player who has no troubles catching up and I regularly do M+ and do what i can to try and bring myself up to everyone elses standards.

Tell us a joke:

Why did Humpty Dumpty push his girlfriend off the wall?

Because he wanted to see her crack

We will not consider any dps with less than the 2nd minor essence unlocked, ideally at least lvl 60 at this point, nor is 420 ilvl suitable for our current progression. The lack of m+ done or attempts to pug/log Eternal Palace also shows a general lack of effort put into the character.

If you want to raid and put in effort into character progression, feel free to reapply once your charcter is suitable for mythic progressions.
