Describe your choice of talents and why you've chosen them:
Shadow priest for raiding is quite limited in terms of talents.
Tier 1: Shadow Word: Void
Tier one is quite simple as the damage output is basically the same as Fortress of the Mind, Fortress of the Mind require you to have minimal movement(basically none) for it to get ahead. Therefore SW: Void is the easier solution with less downsides + makes the spec play/feel better.
Tier 2: Body and Soul
Body and soul is my top pick on this talent row simply because it’s the only on demand movement speed spell(40% for 3 sec) shadow priests has outside of dispersion. San’layn could be useful for some low movement fights if there is massive burst healing required and the healers need some extra random heals. That being said, i would use Body and Soul for absolutely every bossfight unless asked for something else. Intangibility could be used if the need for a big defensive came up more often during a boss, this is rarely the case and the damage is often avoidable hence Body and Soul would be my go to.
Tier 3: Twist of Fate
The execute from Twist of Fate is rather special since it’s not tied to the specific target being executed. This means that if a fight has add(s) the talent will give me a 10% damage buff on all targets whilst one of them are in execute percentages of health(sub 35%). This could therefore make shadow priests maintain almost a 100% damage buff on themselves throughout a fight under the right conditions. Twist of Fate is also the best talent for pure ST.
The two other talents can work within their own niche based on azerite traits, though they will always be used for big cleave fights. The current azerite build requires you to have both
SW: Pain and Vampiric Touch up on a target to even work to their full potential, this means that in a hectic fight where you are fighting for a single global to cast, Misery can be quite helpful with this because casting Vampiric touch will also apply SW: Pain(Mostly used for spread cleave, IE if i’m the main raptor padder on Conclave of the chosen). Dark Void is for the most part used in mythic +, but can be used in fights like Opulence for the adds specifically. Dark Void allows you to SW: Pain all enemies around your current target making it very good for cleaving the adds, if there is need for a shadow priest to run this in a raid it should probably be combined with either a full build for Mind Sear or a mixed ST/Mind Sear build to maximize the talent choice. Dark Void is not far behind on ST compared to Twist of Fate in a pure ST environment because it helps you to quickly enter Voidform again after dropping your insanity. The importance of this will be clarified in Tier 7.
Tier 4: Psychic Horror/Last Word
Need a stun → Psychic Horror
Need me to silence more often → Last Word
Mindbomb is literally useless in almost all scenarios.
Tier 5: Auspicious Spirits(AS)
For this talent row AS will be the go to in pretty much any and all scenarios, it works with the current azerite build(focuses on maximizing damage from Shadowy Apparitions) and also does the most damage for most if not all encounters. I could see SW: Death being used in some cases, this is a lower overall damage talent, but will help with more damage in the execute phase of a fight. Shadow Crash is mostly an aoe spell and i can’t really see any good use for it in raids. This talent choice might change after nerfs in 8.2, need to sim/read up on it after it drops.
Tier 6: Lingering Insanity
Lingering Insanity allows you to keep the bonus haste you get from your voidform stacks when you drop voidform, decreasing by 1% every 3 seconds. This effect helps you in multiple ways, first of all it allows you to enter a new voidform faster simply by casting more spells faster, again the importance of this will be clarified in Tier 7. Secondly keeping the haste from a voidform and carrying it over to another voidform gives you a lot of extra haste during a fight, hence more damage. Mindbender is the only competitive talent in my eyes, but only for single target fights as it is a ST damage and insanity boost while it is up.
Void Torrent couldn’t be used at the damage output from this talent is not the best while being the most limited talent of the three since it has a very long cast and loses a lot of value if interrupted. This concludes that Lingering Insanity is the easier and better choice for raids while making the class feel faster/better at the same time.
Tier 7: Legacy of the Void
Legacy of the Void allows you to enter Voidform at 65 Insanity and also gives your spells a 5% damage buff while in Voidform. This talent choice is built around staying in Voidform as much as humanly possible because of this 5% buff. The 65 Insanity helps with the entering barrier while Lingering Insanity speeds your generation of Insanity and if chosen Dark void can further increase you ability to enter Voidform quickly. Dark Ascension and Surrender to madness is currently not used for any content. Dark Ascension could be used for its instant burst when you enter Voidform, but is this lacking the damage to stay competitive for this row considering consistent damage.
How do you prioritize your stats and why?
Considering a perfect setup
2(3)X Chorus of Insanity, 3(2)X Spiteful Apparitions and 1X Whispers of the Damned
if you have 2X Chorus you would go for a statprio
crit = haste → mastery → versatility
if you have 3X Chorus you would go for a statprio
haste → crit → mastery → versatility
if you have less than 2X Chorus you would go for a statprio
crit → crit → haste → mastery → versatility(you need critical strike)
The current build for raids revolves around the trait Spiteful Apparitions which buffs your Shadowy Spirits. A Shadowy Spirit will appear if your SW: Pain critical strikes, Chorus of Insanity will supply ridiculous amounts of crit the more you have of the trait. Currently i don’t have a single Chorus of Insanity for my ST build so i need crit on everything.
Where do you acquire knowledge about your Class?
Priest Discord, Twitch(Viklund, Matthxv2 and a couple more streamers from high end guilds and mythic+ communities), WowHead, IcyVeins and some conclusions on my own.

Raiding History:
All my previous mythic raiding experience was on my warlock.
Describe your previous/current raiding experience:
9/11 Nighthold, up to Elisande(Darth decided to kill Star Augur without me)
8/9 Tomb of Sargeras
11/11 Antorus the Burning Throne

Tell us about your previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
Almighty Sisters on Grim Batol Alliance, guild stopped raiding, all my friends left, guild died.
More Information:
Can you meet our raid schedule of Wed/Thur/Mon 21:00 to 00:00 server time with at least 90% attendance?
Yes, as of now i work until 21:00 on mondays and will be home between 21:30 and 22:00, not an issue the other raid days.
We also raid on Sunday at the start of a new raiding tier. Are you aware of this?
Yes
Are you able to Listen and Speak on Teamspeak?
Yes
What qualities do you bring to a Raid?
I do what i am asked to do and i learn to do roles in a fight quickly. I properly read up on fights as information is released and try my best to be a positive influence in the raid.
How comfortable are you playing your offspecs?
For as long as i have been playing the game i have been a ranged dps, i’ve had some melee alts, but i’ve never progressed a boss as a healer or a melee dps. Either way i’m pretty sure i could learn how to heal as holy/disc if given enough practice.
How do you feel about progression raiding?
Few things can overcome the feeling of killing a boss you spent the last month/week practising and dying to. Killing Argus for the first time is a time i will never forget and i will always be looking for another experience like that.
Where did you hear about Curse of Years and do you know anyone in the guild?
Darthsmurff was my former raid leader/GM in Almighty Sisters where Kesi was the resident spirit link/ ress totem bot.
What encouraged you to apply to Curse of Years?
Darth/Kesi, and i want to get into raiding again with some old and hopefully some new friends for both raiding and m+.
Do you play outside of raid?
I play a lot of Mythic +, i do the odd WQ and islands but not really my thing.
Is there anything else you'd like to add to your application?
Sorry if this 4-5 page application is way too much, once I start writing I hardly stop. Also, planning on switching out my pc in the summer, the poor thing has been through a lot.
Im also working alot of extra shifts now at the start of the summer, so will sometimes only be able to join at around 21:30-22:00. This is only for the first 2-3 weeks after this application was posted
